Hows the clearance on the UCA? JBAs site makes it sound like 0 offset with 285s will rub the UCA.

 

I have tons of clearance about 2"....

 

Thats what I would figure, but someone in the JBA megathread mentioned their 8" 0 offset rubbing the UCA. I think maybe they meant rubbing the fender.

He posted a full update on why they went quiet for 60 days. Bunch of heavy life stuff and issues with their suppliers. They’re back in the swing of things. Call and leave a voicemail. He’ll get back to you

Big shout out to Dustin, great guy to talk to and very knowledgable. If your on the wall and can't decide like me, just give him a call, super nice guy.

I had a hard time deciding which off-set of the 5 star rims to go with, due to the fact there wasn't a lot of first gen with the 5 star rims on and explaining their specs also (lifts, tire size & off-set).

So after talking to Dustin, I decided to go with the Matt bronze in 16x8, wrapped in Goodyear MTR kevlar 285/75r16 which will support a 3in toytec unltimate lift up front and a OME Dakar rear leaf pack.

When flexing there is rubbing issue, I've since trimmed the front inner fender liner and folded over the pinch welds, trimmed the rear fender flares on the insides and added an extra 3" bump stop. No more rubbing issues. Gears and lockers will be coming next.

Hopefully I didn't rant to long and this post will help the next person with a 1st gen make an easier decision. Thanks again Dustin!!
