I know your original price was “235”. How much for a MT with trd black like you recently posted? Lead time?

 

For those of you with stripped out frame threads and I’m sure there are a few, here is what I did for the fix.
I have had probably 4 or 5 of my skid bolts holes completely stripped out over the last 22 years and almost 600k miles. A Helicoil repair WILL NOT last. You have to repair the skid bolt threads in the frame with one of these two methods,
TIME-SERT is what I did after the helicoil failed twice on me.

is there a difference for fit between MT and AT? i just saw that mentioned and wasn't sure

 

I believe the AT skid drops a bit further to allow for transmission clearance.

These look awesome! I need a skid for my Taco. I'd buy a 7ga, manual with TRD cutout if you're gauging interest for another group buy.

 

The auto transmissions radiator actually drops 2" lower than a standard manual transmission so the auto skid is different than the standard skid plate

 

I would be in for Auto with TRD cutout if will work with diff drop on a group buy.

 

Did someone say group buy? I need more weight on the front end of my truck. And my stock skid two piece design is so annoying.

 

Are these compatible with aftermarket plate bumpers, for example the Relentless Fabrication Predator bumper?

Bolts right up to my ARB.

 

@Blackdawg Had a fitment issue with his relentless bumper.

 

Had to trim mine quite a bit and mod the holes. Allen head bolts ended up working the best

 

Oh man that's a shame, been looking for an excuse to ditch my stock skid plate.

Which Relentless bumper do you have?

 

Predator I think. They are all the same other than the hoop design.

I also didn't realize this skid doesn't cover the steering rack..like at all. Gonna end up replacing it with something else. Not a big deal if you don't offroad

Trying to figure out if I want to keep the stock skidplate or not, don't do crazy off-roading but I'd prefer a stronger option over stock.

 

Run the stock till it falls off. If it doesn't fall off. You don't need a beefier skid. Save the weight

 

Looks like RCI has taken the 1st gen skids off the website.... I am also trying to pair new skids with a relentless bumper.

Looks like most aftermarket skids need to be trimmed/altered to fit the relentless bumper. Not seeing the relentless skid option on their site any longer either..
