The biggest concern when adding steering controls is the Airbag. You'll need a smaller profile to accomodate the audio controls. This can be accomplished 3 different ways:

    1. Trim your existing airbag cover - requires a VERY steady hand ($0).
    2. Replace the airbag cover with a small profile version ($80) - requires drilling out & replacing original "rivets". I ordered mine off eBay from a Taiwanese vender - excellent quality product!
    3. Replace your entire airbag - you can sell your original to offset cost ($350).

WARNING: Follow ALL precautions outlined in FSM when handling your airbag. Failure to do so could be fatal.

Second, you'll need the audio control (left) & the blank (right). These are available thru online dealer for ~$150. I bought a steering wheel on eBay for $35 that included these 2 items. I then sold the steering wheel for $50.

Third, you'll need the "premium" clockspring. This goes for ~$275 from a online dealer. I found one on eBay for $75. Make sure you "center" (2.5 turns) the clockspring prior to installation.

Your current radio will support audio controls. If you want to play MP3/WMA CDs you will need a '09+ radio. There are two types: JBL & non-JBL. Make sure the replacement is the same type you already have to insure plug-n-play.

An AUX input can be added to 05-08 radios using an adapter that connects to your CD changer port. Later models, 09+ support an AUX input directly but you will need to add wiring to use it (details avail. if needed).

    Hope that answers your question...:)

Well, actually I did have good luck...
I recently purchased an entire 2008 4x4 Locking Diff Rear Axle Assembly (drum to drum) with only 10k miles on it, including actuator & wiring harness, for $900 + $200 shipping.

Just keep your eyes open, be patient and eventually the deal will come to you!
