I will check under mine and see if it will work with the bull bar. Does it come in black?

It will fit under a bull bar but often it will require the bracket to be shortened slightly so the bull bar does not block part of the view of the plate. I have made the slight modification necessary to the design several times in the past. I usually work with the customer and I have a few pictures sent of the front of the truck just to make sure that we are doing everything to get a bracket that fits.

I send the brackets in bare aluminum that I have scuffed up. I leave the painting up to the customer in order to keep the bracket at a reasonable price. People who have painted it in the past typically use a self etching primer then a decent quality rattle can paint and the results are nice.

    Question.

These appear to be made of aluminum. What are the bolts made of? I had the other drill-less plate holder that circulated around here from years ago and need to lower my plate. This looks like the ticket.

The issue I ran into with that old style aluminum bracket was after 4 winters in NY the plate bolts were fused to the holes they were threaded into. I assume the salt water spray, alloy frame and steel? bolts had a chemical reaction.

For you metalurgists out there...do you know what plate screw material works best with an aluminum frame in a road salt environment? I have custom plates and occasionally need to remove them so damaging them is a small issue.

    Thanks

The bolts are made of stainless steel. My personal bracket has been on my truck since July of 2014. So, four years worth of Maine winters and lots of salt on the roads and plate bracket. I have noticed very slight corrosion where the two dissimilar metals touch so I used just a tiny bit of grease wherever the two metals meet to make sure I have no problems. I have also removed the bracket a dozen or more times to use my truck to try out various special projects for customers. Each time I have had no problem with everything coming apart and going back together.

For you painting the bracket or even powdercoating it might be worth the extra cost since you have a need to remove it every now and again.

Also note that you have a 2015 and that bracket is held on by two bolts that hold the bumper cover on. These two bolts are normal steel and thread into a captive nut. If you had the need to remove the bracket it would literally take you all of 2 minutes with a hand ratchet and probably about 1 minute or less battery powered impact wrench. By removing just the two mounting bolts below, the entire bracket with the license plate stays together.

I have attached the assembly and installation instructions below so you can better see what I am talking about.

Hey interested in a no skidplate 2012+

I was curious if you can see the hardware from a slightly lower angle when installed or if it's hidden behind the factory skid.

You have to duck down quite a bit to see the hardware, but it will be visible at one point. Some customers have color matched it to their bumper cover which makes the bracket almost invisible unless you know what you are looking for.
