Finally got around to painting the frame and radiator so it wouldn’t be so obvious behind the grille.

 

Looks real good. Emblem is clean, close up.

So,

How should I go about ordering something just like this white one, except in Barcelona red? Or, do you have anything else you think might look good that you're wanting to get rid of or experiment with?

Also, what's your opinion on painted vs unpainted flat/matte black bezels? Does the unpainted match the rest of the OEM black plastic just fine, or does the paint really add value/quality?

 

For ordering the Barcelona Red version of this, they can be order directly on our site or we can do a paypal invoice or phone order. We've done a couple of them in red recently, I hope to get some installed pics of them back soon to show.

As for grills I want to get rid of, I think the only ones I have are either with chrome bezel, or flat black lettering.

The painted vs unpainted bezels, I usually tell customers that the unpainted is a good choice if you're getting the gloss black mesh because it'll match the same deep rich black tone. The flat black mesh and unpainted bezel does have some contrast. Some people that like, but I personally prefer either a color match or flat black bezel with the flat black mesh.

 

Got any pictures of the one with flat black lettering? What sort of price would you let that go for?

Retails out for $445, I've been asking for $333.75 for it. Nothing wrong with it, just an overstock. Everyone's been ordering every other close combination but that one, lol.

Shipping was exceptional BTW. I was a bit nervous with an item like this because mail gets an extra round of abuse at customs, but the double boxing was bulletproof. Well done thx. I popped the old Toyota emblem off the chrome grill and I might paint it and put it on this grill.

 

Got my new grill, installed and satisfied with it! Thanks very much! The install was pretty straightforward, though my grill was installed a little differently than the one in the CustomCarGrills instructional video.

Once the 2018 TSS things is ironed out, I'll definitely be ordering a grill!

 

I've got a new prototype available right now if you want to help test.

We've had one on the road for a little while and everything seems to work thus far. PM for more details.

 

Here's what we've got going on so far. The sensor is relocated to the lower center area with a plastic window for it to beam though. Given the current configuration of using the mesh on the stock bezel, this is the smallest window size I felt comfortable with. On the back of it, there's a bracket that connects the sensor to the mesh, and also connects the sensor to the factory grill frame.

OEM Emblems work well with this setup. Larger lettering will be relegated to connected plates (very similar to the setup we use for USA flag plates) as opposed to individual letters. Pricing will likely see a noticeable increase but we're likely still going to be one of the cheapest options out there. If all goes as planned, it's something I hope to have ready for sale in 45-60 days from now.

 

How do these hold up against the drastic temperature changes in Michigan? I know some people with other metal grills like the BAMF have had the cowl/surround crack with cold temperatures
