Im just waiting for a grill that says TOYOTA and made by Toyota in large letters to shut all these haters up about the grill. News flash... the 2016 looks a lot sharper than the 2nd gen in person.

Looking good man... how about this idea.... the mesh has a bunch of small Toyota symbols instead of just a round hole.......... I mean the "3- oblong circles".. The Toyota badge in miniature size and then cut into the metal grill instead of just round holes... that would be a definite buy for me.... you know....... a whole lot of very little Toyota symbols across the grill... can you picture this... I can,,,,... and I only started drinking an hour ago... hehe

Yes, unscrew and push the tabs of the old bezel and inner core out. Snap in the new one and replace the screws.
Yup, I get it, just trying something different. The pieces are available for pre-order (without spikes) right now on my site. Hoping to ship some at the end of next week.

Trying to get both prototypes out for installed pictures via PM's isn't working out. They are available on my site (2nd product down) in the Toyota Truck section. First come, first served, with reduced pricing and $50 refund for quality installed pictures.

Working on a 3rd finished prototype this weekend, hope to have something to show in a few days.

The bezel is the factory finish. Unpainted black plastic, which I would class as a satin finish. I'll look into doing different bezel finishes after I get the mesh pieces finalized.

Lots of us with 2nd gens have bought grills from customcargrills. Definitely a quality product and a nice guy to talk to. His grills are well worth the money.

Yes. I have a 1/4" honeycomb mesh that would usable, but it would be extremely see-through.

For the 2nd gen models, I don't stock a silver mesh option (though, they are available upon request). Since I had a chrome bezel on hand, I thought I'd attempt a woven wire type installation which I rarely offer. I'm not sure how viable these would be for me to mass produce, I can't machine cut this material so each would need to be done by hand.

The woven wire itself is not chrome, but it's quite shiny and is a good match for the bezel. The bezel straight out of the box did not shine up very well either, I'm not sure if this problem is exclusive to replacement parts from Toyota or if the same is true of the ones installed from the factory. This piece, as well as the other 2 prototypes are still available at a discounted rate + $50 cash back for quality installed pictures.

Thoughts on the woven wire on chrome bezel?

It needs to be broken up with something in the middle. The area is too large to be one solid design. Tacoma/Toyota lettering is good but someone needs to take it a step further.

This is the best I've seen so far but put some black mesh or something behind the horizontal plastic piece.

I can agree with what you're saying. After I have the final mesh pieces is complete, I'll look into getting some pieces machined that'll give a look similar to what you pictured. Might also look into fiberglass as an alternative version too.

If I can make them, it'll probably look good. I'll be curious though of it look 2-3x the cost good vs the unmodified version.

Hey guys I saw this mockup and it kind of breaks it up with a light bar...more money I know. I do really like the photoshopped one above with the trd grill. It is a massive space to fill. So I agree it does need something else.
