    SOLD

I have a 5th gen 4Runner lit ignition ring (AKA amplifier - antitheft component) for sale. Here is the thread I initially created if you want to see it in action:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...minated-ignition-ring-mod-in-progress.362500/

This is for anyone who wants a LIT ignition ring. The stock Tacoma ring is black.

Reason I'm selling: The ignition ring lights up AMBER, and another forum member sourced a Tundra equivalent that is white and matches the 2012 dash so I'm selling my current one to buy one of those. So this ring will match the pre-2012 dash nicely.

PLEASE note: the "LOCK-ACC-ON-START" text doesn't line up with the little dots on the metal part of the ignition housing. Its a little off being that the 4Runner text orientation is different. It isn't something particularly noticeable but I want to make sure if anyone wants this they fully know what they are buying.

It is not 100% plug and play. You will have to pin the empty + and - in the OEM amplifier harness to power the LED in the ring. This is outlined in the thread I linked above. Not that difficult to do for anyone with some electronic know-how. I will throw in 2 pins plus 4 extra for no extra cost.

I cross-checked part numbers and even 2005 Tacomas apparently use the same style part, but please check and make sure this 4Runner ring looks like your current part. Would then fit 2nd gens with chipped keys that correspond to the amplifier. You should also be able to make this work if you buy the OEM amplifier socket and just wire a +/- to the LED. Like I said, part numbers for my 2013 stock ring are the same as the 2005 model so it should be correct but please verify in person before buying.

I paid ~$108 for it plus shipping costs, so I'll just list it for $85 shipped OBO for part + 6 terminal pins.

Here you can see the text doesn't line up 100% with the little dots as I mentioned:

If any questions please ask. I'll get a night time picture up later today.

OEM wise yes. The possibility of having someone solder in a new LED is there but it's a tight spot. I've disassembled the part as far as I could and the issue is the LED is on the backside of the circuit board and only has a small space for access.

I figured someone with the pre 2012 Amber dash could benefit since I'm going with a white one from a Tundra.

Would one work from a 2009 highlander?

Not sure. Best bet would be to get a good look and compare both parts of you can in person. For example, 03-09 4Runner rings do NOT work for our 2nd gens in my experience, but 10+ do.

Side note: still open to offers worst I can say is no. It's a really easy mod despite my wall of text. Simply have to run power to an add a fuse doodad to the in cab fuse box, and for the negative tap the dome light circuit in the A-pillar. And if you are really on the fence I'll just crimp the 2 wires+terminals for like $5. All you have to do is insert them in the stock harness.

I have a dot chipped key...would this work? Or how would I make it work with my immobilizer. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while.

Yes it would work. This part is specifically for our immobilizer equipped Toyotas. All it does is send the signal through to the ECU from my understanding. Have had it on my truck for the past few months with no issues.

It's literally, remove steering column plastic cover to gain access to the stock part, unplug it. Add the 2 wires with terminal ends into the blank spots in the stock harness plug, and wire them to appropriate places. Then plug in the 4Runner part and button everything up and done.
