    I have a 2.7 4x4 5spd which I'm selling and a 4.0 4x4 auto (same wheelbase) which I'm keeping and the drive shaft from the 4banger didn't fit on the V6. Was too long. Maybe it would have if the V6 had a man trans too. The transfer cases are all the same dimensions for what it's worth

    Okay so. Here’s the run down.
    My OEM shaft is an 034. Rekt

    My current spare is an 033

    One currently in the truck is an 032

    So apparently there are differences and it seems 4cyl 5 speed is longer then the rest but can use any of them. The problem I guess is when you try to use a longer shaft in a Truck made to use a shorter one:notsure:

    That shouldn’t matter. The distance from the transfercase to the carrier bearing doesn’t change. Different lifts would mess with the second half of the driveshaft

    Yup. The back half of the driveshaft is the same, but the front is different. Regardless, the driveshaft is balanced as a pair so you can't even mix and match the back half if you dent or candy-cane the rear half of the driveshaft.

    Oh yeah i know.... but mix matching and then rebalancing wouldn't be a terrible idea depending on what you pay for the shaft, and how much you pay for balancing.

    The carrier bearing has slotted holes which can maybe compensate for a larger front piece.. maybe? I just know a shorter piece won't work. It won't connect.
