    How much better would this help my stock system sound? Not an audiophile here....

    Better is going to be subjective. Biggest advantage of this over the stock system I had was that it played MP3/WMA discs and had full control over my iPod. There is going to be some level of 'better' sound, but with the base paper cone speakers, there's only going to be so much any system will be able to improve it.
