I believe this modification to the seat height is much better than the one I reviewed on Youtube. The use of bar stock does provide a good landing area for the seat bracket but it appears to be slightly less than the original landing area design. Increasing the bolt length does produce a larger force moment on the bolt which could negatively affect bolt performance during an accident. For example if you hit a bolt that is sticking out of a plate of steel by 1 inch it will break at a much lower force than a bolt that is 1/8 inch above the steel plate for the same thread engagement. If you assume the original design was for the bolt to be 1/8 inch above the floor plate and you extend the bolt to 1 inch above the floor you will increase accident forces on the bolt by factor of approximately 8. Having the bar stock insert will reduce this affect but without detailed analysis I dont know by how much. I’m not saying don’t perform this modification but I want everyone to know that it has to compromise original design. This is only my opinion.

I didn't buy spacers, just stacked five 3/16" spacers on top of eachother lol. Worked great! I'm glad I found this post... my back doesn't hurt anymore.
