the guy that was going to rebuild my leepers said he found mine like that too.

 

I am thinking I will definitely want to have these checked out / rebuilt before I put them in. Seems like the manufacturing is right on but the assembly could be lacking. Anyone know any reputable shops in AZ that could do this?
I am going to be home in SoCal between XMas and New years too

 

The install is the easy part. I can pull and replace a coilover in about 5 minutes. I pulled both of mine, replaced the lower spherical bearing in each and put them back in. An hour and a half from tires off to tires back on.

 

Yeah, they crossed my mind, they are the only shop I know of the does long travel in AZ

 

i texted him today because he still has my shot set of leepers so i was going to pick them up and see what i can do with them(part out maybe) and he said he was rebuilding another set of leepers due to them leaking and again found seal in upside down. oh and he said the guy had less than 5k on them before they started to leak so yeah check them out before you have to take them off and get them rebuilt and pay to get them installed again.

 

i thought i read somewhere on hear that icon wouldn't even rebuild these cuz of all the legal bs that happened between icon and leeper.

 

I've had my Leepers rebuilt at a local shop. Maybe Icon wouldn't want to touch them because of the lawsuit, however any Offroad shop should be able to do the work for you no problem.

 

yeah, I wouldn't think of even going to them lol, kinda like asking Apple to fix your fake iPhone

I hope getting the coilovers checked out / serviced isn't too much $$$ Might cut into my plan for the rest of the suspension. I am thinking about going with the Camburg ball joint UCA's, Alcan AAL 3 leaf progessive pack and the Icon rear resi shocks all from Wheelers.

 

What seal keeps getting referenced? Anyone know if its something easy to identify or would the coilover have to be broken down?

i dont know, he just told me that its a seal that was put in upside down... so it starts to leak.
