Up for sale is my 97 4Runner. I'll get to the parts list in a bit but first the backstory.

A few months ago I blew out the passenger coil bucket. I filed a claim with my insurer and they decided to total it. I was wanting to build a new rig so I didn't argue a whole bunch. As it sits it's a total loss via CA DMV. The repair can be made and it can be granted a renewed salvage title. The coil bucket part # is 51501-35100 < clickable link.

If you plan on repairing this and getting a salvage title please research your states laws about such. This vehicle is sold as is with a bill of sale and no warranty express or implied.

Since it is a wheeling rig it also has some body damage that I will include photo's of. If your the wax and polish sort you can step out now.

With that out of the way I'm sure some of you want to know how "built" it is. For that let's get on with the show. I'll list all the parts first then include some pics. If there's anything I missed please feel free to ask for more photo's.

    1997 4Runner V6 Auto 262K
    Heat and AC work great.
    Starts and runs just fine.
CA truck it's whole life so rust free.

    Armor

    Stubbs HD-SKO welded sliders
Savage 3/16 steel skids 1st generation
Relentless Predator front bumper w/12K Engo synthetic line winch
Savage Dual Swingout rear bumper w/ tire carrier, hi-lift mount and rotopax mount
    @eimkeith lower link mount skids

    Suspension

    2.5" King Ex-Travel fronts w/650lb springs
2.5" King Piggyback extended travel rears
    OME 861 coils
Front Range Off-Road upper heimed links
    Metal Tech adjustable lower links
    Eimheith panhard correction kit(PCK)
Durobumps front and rear. Passenger side DB is missing but I'll include a set of prototypes that still work.
333 Fab alignment cam eliminator plates.

    Drivertrain

Trail Gear Crawlbox w/ Marlin 2.28 Total Spline Input, Rad Design twin stick. Stock shifter on CB.
Custom mount point for the CB welded to the stock crossmember with Marlin HD mount.
    RCV CV's
F/R ARB locked with Nitro 5.29s built by ECGS.
ARB CKMA 12 mounted under hood.
    Tom Woods Custom Driveshafts F/R
35" PitBull Rocker Radials at 14/32nds on MB Motoring 17" 352's
Power Stop Tundra front brake upgrade

    Tunes/electrical/lights

    Newish Interstate AGM MTZ 34R
Balistic Fab battery tray. Top lock tabs broke off and need to be rewelded.
    Blue Sea Winch on/off 350A
Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse box.
    Bussman 100A circuit breaker.
300W inverter in custom dash mount where ashtray used to be.
    Dual Electronics DV526BT head unit
Hifonics Zues 4ch 1000W peak amp powering
Polk Audio DB651 6.5" rear door speakers
Infinity Reference 6500CX 6.5" front doors speakers and tweeters
    Boss AR1500M 1500W monoblock powering
Pioneer TS-W259S4 10" sub. Custom enclosure using rear storage compartment.
Full Butyl sound deading on floor and doors.

7" electric cooling fan for trans.
Auto Meter trans temp gauge mounted on A pillar.
    Nilite 4" spots in bumper
Nilite 6.5" flood on top of bumper.

I'd really like to see this go to someone who plans on repairing and wheeling it like I have. To be fully transparent I'll list what needs to be fixed.

    Passenger side coil bucket (obviously)
Rear ABS wires are cut above gas tank from a rear coil bucket/shock mount failure that I repaired. The repair was made with a new factory shock mount and fish plated so it won't happen again. Tank needs to be dropped to solder them back together. Speedo and odo still work fine with just the front sensors.
There's a small leak coming from the rear main. It never got big enough for me to have to add oil between changes so I never addressed it.
Driver side rear tail light cracked. Needs to be replaced depending on state.
The spare tire had a sidewall gash that was repaired with cold vulcanizing compound. It's been holding air for over a year now.
Timing belt was last done at 169900 miles.

As stated above I'd like to sell the whole rig given I don't have the time or proper space to tear it down and sell parts individually. I'll leave this add up for a few months before I go the part-out route. Knowing that please refrain from asking for parts from it. If it gets parted out I will list them for sale after I decide too. If you decide to ask for parts in this thread you will be bumped to the very bottom of the list if a future part out occurs. Thanks.

Here comes the photos. All pics are full size so clicking the photo will give you some good details.

If you made it this far and have any questions start asking. I feel the price is fair for the condition of the vehicle and what it's capable of. If you want an almost turn key wheeler for cheap this is your chance. All PM's will be replied to within 24 hours. Thanks for looking.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Legit AF rig.

Anyone that isn't afraid of a little out of position welding should snatch this up and put it back on the trails

Damn having seen this rig in action it’s exactly the kind of rig I’d like to own.

Always across the country... If you were on the east coast, I would buy this in heartbeat. Just did a quick check on shipping - $2500 to eastern NC. Does the TW Express go cross country?

Between you, your brother and dad I am sure there is more then enough skill set there to repair it. lol

Sadly, last year it was probably about $800. Let me check with another NC local.

Hey, @eimkeith got any leads on shipping that won't kill a deal?

I just spent $1400 on a UHaul to take our broken 80 back from Amarillo TX to NC. Maybe U-Ship?

I'd advise a potential buyer to have @AssBurns put a strut tower on it, then fly in and road-trip it back. :)

The problem with making the repair then having someone drive it back is it isn't registered. That's a long 3000 miles to drive without plates. lol

I've already talked to Steven and he's more then happy to weld the new strut tower on. He's busy with the BeerRunner so I'm trying not to call that favor in. I don't even think I let him know I put it for sale as is. lol

What the hell did you break that couldn't be repaired in the field?

Dang, sorry to see you're selling the runner. If you were closer I'd consider buying it, your price is more than fair with all the goodies I think.

What's the next truck/build going to be?

Thanks guys. It really is to bad T4R.org went downhill. But cool to know you're both on here.

I'm still in the pro/con phase of the next build. Solid axle. Either streetable or tow pig. If it ends up being tow pig I'm going tube buggy. Still thinking through all the streetable options.

Awesome rig and I might be interested in the kings if that route presents itself. I’m in Texas but have family near Menifee and in Oakland so I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to work something out. I know t4r is ass so maybe try 4Runners.com that’s TW sister site. Hopefully no one there is here but, it’s mostly 5th gen fan bois lol. Cheers

You have no idea how much of a PITA getting the crawlbox in without cutting out the rear cross member was. Not looking forward to reversing that. lol

    Sold.

The new owner plans on repairing it and continuing to wheel it. He's a member here and I'll let him chime in if he wants. Time to figure out the next rig for me now. lol

Your welcome and thank you. Enjoy it. It's a super fun rig to wheel. I'm stoked to see it out on the trails still.
