Thanks for the bump Dave, it really is a steal, I lowered the price hoping to get rid of it quickly. Seems no one is biting though. Just an FYI for other builders. It is available for parting out if you're interested. Obviously I'd like to get rid of the car specific pieces first (screen, amp, harness) as worst case I can easily repurpose the PC components into anything.

    Thanks for looking.

Hey man, how loud does this system run? I will be honest and say that I know nothing about carputer systems, but this looks pretty legit. A running video would be great, but I will be working up in Idaho for the next two weeks with no internet connection. If it is still up for grabs by the time I get back, I will probably take it...

Hard to say how "loud" it will get, I guess I could measure the dB range. But I will say the quality is much superior to the factory system. Even with the factory speakers in place. When I swapped back to the factory, I instantly noticed a difference. It was almost enough to make me want to put it back in.

I'll see what I can do for a video, though I don't have it installed anymore. I could put together a video of a bench test. But this probably wouldn't demonstrate the audio quality on it in the vehicle. It's easy enough to swap in and out though, I'll look into getting something. But it wouldn't be for at least a week.

    Thanks for looking.

Yeah man, a bench test would be great. I just want to see how it starts up, runs through the menus, etc. I just know nothing about it is why, and if I'm gonna drop some good money I need to know haha. And no worries on the timeframe. I won't be back here for 2 weeks anyway.

sounds good. I'll try to get one together so you can see the exact functionality. If you can't wait or are curious, the front-end is Centrafuse 3.1 - so you can most likely do a youtube or google search on that, and find a few other videos of general walk-through just to get an idea of what to expect.

    Till then, safe travels.

Hey one other quick question, does it support full ipod connectivity? How about satellite radio?

Yes, and yes. And as a bonus, you could get away with only purchasing the PC components for Satellite radio instead of car specific components which are usually more specific. Mind you, what I'm selling comes with nothing for satellite, as I don't use either service.

Any way to make this work with stock radio?

Seems these nettops would work really well for super cheap too. Can get them refurb for $150.

For radio, what alot of guys do (myself included) is purchase an HD Radio tuner. It connects to the factory antenna plug, no subscription fees, no stations crackling and going in and out and the sound quality is superior to normal. Also, you get all your normal local radio stations. I purchased mine on Ebay for $20, here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270588580219&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
You just have to mount the faceplate somewhere. When I'm home from deployment I'll get pics.

Not threadjacking, just helping the seller out. Honestly guys, these set ups are far superior to any standard head unit you'll get. The sound quality from a PC is better because it uses a PC sound card in a motherboard vs. a shared chipset. Some guys are even running 5.1 and 7.1 surround in their vehicles with multiple amps. Centrafuse is great. The startup time on most of these systems is on par or faster than a standard setup from a manufacturer.

    Bump for a great deal.

Still have it - and for all others.. if this post is here, I still have it. I'll update on any status change of the unit. Otherwise, still for sale as advertised.

if you really wanted to you could mount it somewhere else, and simply run the line-out into the aux jack of the factory radio. If that's your thing that is.. it would no longer mount where the factory radio is, unless you relocated it. Either way, something would have to move. But it IS possible I guess.

Thanks for the bump, the HD Tuner was going to be my next purchase before I decided to let everything go. Sound quality is way superior to the factory unit, even better than the recent aftermarket units (though this has been a limited selection for myself).

It currently does not include any sort of radio tuner. This would need to be added on separate. A USB module for AM/FM/HD can be had for about $50 new.

Are you wanting just the monitor and dash kit? just the monitor? I'm open for parting it out, but would request at least one more week for other prospects time to determine if they'd want it as a whole or not.

Both. PM me if you can't sell. Also interested in the GPS receiver and perhaps the software (not the windows, the other).
