Very interesting. It'll take me some time to R&D, but I like the idea and think its doable.

Would be slick looking for sure. Will there be enough space behind it for wiring and the switch backsides?

I’m not sure. I’m nowhere near working on the research and development for this yet.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I just picked up a '12 lower console and there is definitely lots of real estate back there to fit wiring. You'll just have to sacrifice the two 12v cigarette ports or relocate them elsewhere. A full length oem switch panel would be pretty sick looking down there.

I'm on the fence between ordering a 6 or 8 switch panel...

Do the factory blanks fit in slots not currently being used, or can you make blanks the empty slots?

I can fill a 6 switch panel now, so I'm thinking of possible future expansion with an 8 switch panel. Though I don't want to drive around with open holes in the 8 switch panel.

I haven’t tried putting blanks in but I believe others have without issue.

Are you looking for the cut out dimensions, or the face dimensions?

How difficult would it be to design one with two horizontal openings that would mount on the back of the console? I'm a fan of the factory look and have plans to install a charging port for passengers back there. I'm not sure of the curvature of the back...I would have to look. If it isn't worth the time or headache I understand totally....just curious. I dont know if maybe an existing design would work or not since the curvature is surely different.

I would think the 2 button horizontal mount would already work for this. I’ll have to check the thickness of the plastic for that location. Kind of how I did this outlet in the back of mine.
