After almost 7 years of ownership, its time to move on. Bought it in 2016 in Denver, drove it east to New England in 2018. 1997 single cab, on its second 3rz, automatic transmission, came stock with 4.56 gears and manual locking hubs.

    -OME suspension, extended brake lines
    -CV axles and seals
    -Tundra Disc Brake Upgrade
    -06 WRX bucket seats
-Steering Rack & Bushings, LBJs, Lower Control Arms replaced in 2018
-New battery and alternator in 2022
-Set of 5 4runner 5 spokes wearing Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws
-Ultragauge mounted to driver grab handle

Body is banged up and frame has some surface rust, but the only structural issue was addressed in 2017 - rear passenger shock mount trapped dirt for ~20 years till it rusted through from the inside. I welded on CBI frame plates and rebuilt the shock mount gusset with 1/4" steel. No issues since.

Gauge cluster is not original, tried to swap in one with a tach but it's from a 3.4l so reads low. Mileage is approximately:
    Body - 260k
Current Engine - 240k, swapped in from a junker at 180k (2 months after I bought the truck...yes, it was painful)
    Cluster - 290k

The current 3rz is leaking oil, looks like either the rear main or oil pan gasket - I don't want to deal with it. Buy it, fix it, or drop in a 3.4l and rip this little truck.

AC system has been mostly replaced but still leaking under dash. I might take another stab at fixing this if the truck hangs around for the next few weeks.

    $6000 OBO.

I agree. You could probably double that price on the auction sites. I feel like TW is the hard-core enthusiasts, with shallow pockets. We all want to buy low and build high. The auctions and marketplaces are a bunch of guys who desperately NEED and old truck for some reason..

Anyway.... gorgeous truck bro... maybe just park it behind your shed and forget about it for 5 years. You might revisit it later and drop that new motor yourself.

I'm rebuilding a 91 right now or I'd buy and rebuild yours too but my wife would absolutely divorce me... 5 trucks would cause ww3....

    Good luck brother.
