Tuesday bump. I got swindled on CL by a guy who swore emphatically this was on his 05 Gen 2 only to confirm with Extang that it will only fit a 2001 - 2004 with a 5' bed. I'm just trying to get my money back and maybe help out someone who can actually use it at a lower price. The guy is ignoring me and it's a 2 hour roundtrip drive.
    thanks

    The "Terrific Taco Thursday" bump.
Shipping isn't that bad, it comes out to be about $100 all said and done. Not a bad way to cover your bed Gen 1ers!!!

Sold! Thankfully! I have to vent so ou can read on or stop now.

As I said I bought this about a week ao from a guy that swore this was on his Gen 2 for over a year. He told me I just couldn't figure out how to install it. I confirmed with Extang that it is structurally impossible for the cover to fit my truck. The guy ignored me and my requests for refund.

I consider myself an honest person and was really annoyed by this. I posted it here and on CL for $75, fully expecting to settle at $65 which is exactly what I paid (not including the fuel for the 60 mile round trip I took to pick it up). Well, someone from CL said they would take it. He had a round trip of about 80 miles and I felt bad, so I said on the pone $65 cash firm and you can have it. He said he could only pick it up Monday bc he works weekends in a kitchen and that's the only time he's free, and wanted to make sure it fit a 2002. I assured him with a confirmation email from Extang. So he wants to come at 530pm and my dad says he will get home early to take care of it since I won't be there. Here comes the WTF: I send the guy a message with my address, confirming the price $65, and the time, asking him to call when he is close to confirm someone is home. Well (1) he shows up at 415pm. My brother happened to be there but he didn't know that, no phone call. (2) after telling me how much it would cost him to get there and haggling me for price bc he works 2 jobs, he shows up in a 2012 DC. He is buying the tonneau for his other Tacoma. (3) he tells my brother I told him $55 and offered $50. My brother called me and the guy stuck to is story, and said he is a "nice guy" and would give me $60. I freaked out, told him to leave my house with nothing unless he paid $65. I called him a liar then he called me a liar. I forwarded the confirmation text message to my brother and back to this a-hole. I called him an a-hole and told him to leave empty handed. My brother called me back said the guy said nothing, just paid the $65 and left.

I seriously am sick of people taking advantage of others. I was basically the middle ,an for 2 conning d-bags and I didn't profit. It cost me a lot of frustration, and 3 gallons of fuel.

Moral of the story: no more Craigslist. Even when you deal with people face to face they will try to take advantAge and con you. Unreal. Also, he never answered me when I asked why he showed p at our house 1hour 15mins early without calling....exactly. Luckily it was locked inside the truck.

Sorry to vent, but it is pouring here so I can't run to release this anger.

glad you got it handled, but that is exactly why i never meet at my house... always at a nearby and well-lit/high-traffic location. people can be sketchy as hell!
