@cynicalrider might as well have another one of these for another spare to put in your kit.

Bump, needle bearings are checked and spin freely.

Is there a clutch spring inside the front diff? In 2wd the driver side CV axle will spin its spider gear super fast and logically the opposite one at the same speed in reverse, right? So then if you shift into 4wd on the fly the fork moves the stub and bang...
Sorry if this is a dumb question I’ve never been inside the front diff

I honestly have no idea, maybe @Blackdawg knows the answer?

I have the ADD stub because I took apart a 4Runner differential to swap a manual hub jackshaft onto and eliminated the ADD system.

    No spring.

You can shift in and out of 4wd up to 55mph per Toyotas manual but I do it at 65 no issues all the time. You have to remember that while yes the diff is spinning so is the other side they just aren't linked. When you tell it to link it's just a matter of lining them up which usually only takes a couple of revolutions for the cogs to meet and then slide in. It's not like the stub shaft side isn't spinning.

@BartMaster1234 Hey do you happen to know the parts number for the manual hub axle tube? Thanks!

I think that’s just the tube. I believe you still need the splined shaft, the bearing, the oil seals, etc.
