Those bed slides are sweet. I have a ground tent for camping but should I ever need to sleep in the bed I want as much of the crap as possible up off the floor.

I'm liking this idea a lot.

The bed bars just happened to fit. I thought about getting new brackets made so the bars would be closer to the top of the canopy so I could use them to hang stuff off of, like you're describing, but never did. It sounds like it might be a good setup for what you're wanting to do, though.

The bedslide was great, but it only came out about 2/3-3/4 of the way. With the tailgate down it was still hard to reach stuff on the very back of it, depending on what else was on it.

The BedRug was a nice addition. It also makes for a decent impromptu sleeping pad. I was out hunting one evening and decided on a whim to stay the night and try again the next morning and slept on it. Not a mattress, but better than the bare bed or the ground.

Mine is a short bed so I use a boat hook pole to push/pull things in/out of the bed. That's still needed though because I am vertically challenged.

I thought those bed slides came all the way out. I swear, if I could afford a cap with a full rear door I would have that now. I hate the tailgate, how it's always in the way.

I tried to get a bedrug off Let-go but the bia never responded to my inquiries. I think those are really nice. I can see me getting one some day.

I am going to play with this idea but there has to be some sort of modular type brackets I can use to make something. I would assume once it is assembled and attached it will be very strong and support some weight. I just want to mount a jack, shovel, and ax, but also be able to hand other things out of the way.

Some of the higher priced slides do come out all the way, or at least more than mine did. And yes, once assembled it was solid and would support anything you'd want to use in the bed.

I'm going to have to look around and see what I can find.
