There you go. Basically, their old halos were COB. Looks great but unreliable, because the resistors were built onto the board itself. Heat was the biggest enemy.

Now, with their newest halos, the resistors are actually external and also uses micro SMDs. Much more reliable but doesn't look uniform (like led concept). So TRS mixed what they knew about the uniformity look of COBS and combined that into their xsb halos; a hybrid. This gave you the best of both worlds, reliability of SMDs and that uniform look of COBs.

And if it goes bad, it's just as simple as replacing the resistor box.

@fafafahey I have not had any moisture issues what so ever. I have not had one issue since mounting it there. It was totally worth the time and effort it too mount it the way I did. Got everything out of the way and makes it look more stock. I do wish I had mounted it just a little bit lower but I can always mount something below it, maybe a ARB compressor.

Yeah I shot him an email this morning. I've had a set on headlights that don't function properly from the first day I recieved them about 4 months ago. I'd like to finish this deal up and enjoy my lights that's I've got $1700 into.

    ^ Sam,

I am working with Burt to figure out why your high beams are not working properly. He is the one who build them and I know you've been trying to figure that feature out. We tested it twice prior to shipment and trying to figure out why that could be an issue. Sorry I've been gone handling family business in Las Vegas and have been lacking in communication. I am back up in Portland now handling work and getting things in order.

    Kind regards
    Rad

Thanks for the reply Rad. I shot you an email a week or so ago, whenever you get a chance to check it out. I haven't heard from Burt.

Yes unfortunately, but you gotta pay to play. It's not the typical budget retrofit as I took every upgrade he offered and used a set of brand new OEM trd pro headlight housings.

The set is an amazing and beautiful build as Sam knows. When you're working with higher genuine oem parts and not the cheaper aftermarket parts, the price does reflect that. I'll be working with Burt to figure a solution out for that high beam issue. The bright side of that is, the OEM projectors should be bright enough in the mean time. ;)

Why do some guys spend $500 on suspension while others spend 3k. It's all preference and when you compare the difference in projector outputs, its night and day in performance.

Yes. & I'm sure the diy retrofit headlights pale in comparison to your headlights.
I was just surprised at the cost.
