    crap bolted and welded together....
I hate asking questions in threads that have taken a turn from the start... that being said I'm over dealing with condensation.

I picked up my lights from their shop back in 2014/15. I've tried every trick in the book I can muster to keep my lights from fogging... reading page after page it seems it's probably their paint/bake method.

I've tried drying my lights for a week with tons of air flow thru open sockets. Tried small shake of denatured alcohol, re-seal, even exterior sealant on the seam. Still can't win... I live in the PNW, it rains.

Anyone have insight besides just livingwith it and/or maybe swapping the internals into a depo set of lights?

It’s mounted against the engine side of the driver’s headlight. But after driving the truck for an hour in the snow the other night, it was damp on both sides near the wheel wells. I had to trim a lot of the fender liner and front bumper to fit my 33” tires and I’m assuming that’s allowing more water than usual into the sides of the engine bay... I’m going to have to find a better place for the replacement.

Thats a problem. You will likely also have water in the lights eventually

Yeah, so far, no water or condensation in the lights. But I’m eventually going to look into adding some ABS plastic to the front of the wheel wells or in the engine bay to act as “splash guards”

don’t have an answer for you. But mine kept fogging up all the time as well. Also from the PNW. Eventually after trying every method I could think of including resealing. I gave up and just bought TRD pro headlights. Good luck hope you find a solid resolution. I do miss the look of the retros

Welp...after 6 years with @ambiguous retrofit headlights, both my bulbs (one after another) had finally burned out. Not sure if its the ballast or the actual bulb itself. If I were to replace the whole Morimoto kit, would I have to de-bondo the back of my headlights to replace the bulbs? What are you guys doing to change out the system?

You don’t have to completely disassemble the projectors or housings to replace the bulb. You can either replace the bulbs or ballasts. Heck might even be the Moto Control. I bought all new spare components when they had their Black Friday specials. Always good to have back-ups in cases like this

I'm waiting on 2 ballasts to come in to start my troubleshooting. Man, I hope you're right about the bulbs being able to be removed without touching the bondo.

Last I tried years ago I didn’t have to lol. I remember removing the harness plug and dust boot. I believe the bulb was really easy to remove after that

Ok, so I swapped out the ballasts, and only my passenger side turned on. Maybe its the bulb? What is the purpose of the moto control?

Quick question, I originally bought the headlights with the xb35 d2s back in 2015. If i want to switch up to a xb55 ballast, do I need to change anything else besides the bulbs? Are the igniters and the motocontrol compatible?
