They can be wired however you want.

Right now I have mine running off the fog light switch, but plan on wiring them into the DTRL so they also double as turn signals. :D

Interesting idea. I wonder if they could be made using dual mode LED's/ Plasma/ Cold Cathodes/ 2nd ring. So they switch to the yellow and blink. That would be a nice project I could see myself doing.

Some more simple retrofits with no halos or LEDs. Loved how these turned out.

Those blacked out 12 lights look so much better than the oem chrome. I don't understand why toyota took the "smoked" option away for the 12-current...
Looking at new camrys they have the option for blacked out bezels. Kinda like they took a step back on the tacoma lights.

eBay Amazon Craigslist should have some replacement just resell them after so you don't have down time on your truck. Unless you have a spare car to drive around.

I might have read past a previous post, but any chance you can do this on older headlights? I have an 03' Taco and was looking at blacking out the headlights. Just not sure what direction to go and I have an extra set of headlights to mess with.

If you don't mind me asking what paint did you use for the bhlm? Satin, flat, or an ultra flat?

All my BHLM are done using automotive 2 part paint. I won't say from what brand but it's not cheap at $100 a quart. Satin is what I use.

The difference is the quality of the projector. A FXR being a full sized projector, the mini being smaller so it requires less modification to fit in the bowl sacraficing the quality/output of the beam but making for an easier install.
