Now I'm curious if that 9" is all the way to the edge of the bead lock ring or if it's to the Outside edge of the actual rim.

did you have them custom made for you?

also, a 9" wide rim with a 0 offset should equal a 4.5 backspace......at least thats what i thought, but who knows

Nope they are the only size KMC makes them in from what I see. From what I understand offset is how far the tire sticks in or out from the center of the wheel. and backspace is the amount of metal there is between the center of the wheel to where your wheel mates to your hub. I'm sure there is a rule of thumb for manufacturing but there's nothing saying you can't have a -12mm offset and a 4.5 backspace on a 9" wide rim.

8.5" wide with 0 offset will have 4.75" of BS.

9" with 0 offset will have 5" of BS.

if a wheel is advertised as 8" or 9" wide, you always add 1" to get the total lip to lip width. so if the offset is 0, which means the mounting pad is right dead center on the wheel, you get 4.5" BS(half of 9" total width) for a 8" wheel and 5" BS for a 9" wheel. offset refers to the mounting pad in relation to the center of the wheel. each .25" from the center of the wheel is equivalent to +/-6mm.

here's a useful chart that always comes in handy that a member posted a while back.
