So are these supposed to be aimed level with the headlights or much lower?

Mine are aimed lower, with the lower cutoff right below the hood line as viewed from the driver's seat.

I did the install by just removing the grille and reaching through behind the headlights from the grille opening. It's a bit tight but manageable. You'll want a stubby screwdriver for installing and aiming them. I forget what the oem ones were attached with but these sit in the brackets with a phillips head holding them in place. Adjustment screw is also phillips.

No problem. Also, adjusting can be done with the grille on. It's a reach and may be hard depending on the size of your arms but I adjusted mine after reassembly. Given it's just that one screw it's not too hard with a stubby screwdriver.

Gotcha. When you were adjusting, what were you using as a reference? Wall or something else in front of the truck?

Yeah I drove the truck up to a wall. I had a pretty good starting point as I visually compared them to the original XB's I took off the truck and had already adjusted. But still had to tweak the driver's side a bit. Checked the aim at 5 feet, 25 feet, and 50 feet to make sure they were where I wanted them. Match them up at 5, and watch them as you drive back and you'll see any small adjustments you need to make if they separate as you move away.

Yessir. And this photo is at 20-25 feet for reference when you get to aiming. Should at least make a good starting point.
