    Exactly how do the bikes not lean away from the side of the beds? If I tie it down to the D ring in front... It just tilts away from the bed.

    I think you would still be able to close the tailgate (on a long bed at least), since the front tire will still be very close to the corner.
    I have not tried it, but this weekend, if I have the time, I will load up my Yamaha WR450 to see if the tailgate will close.... I will let you know and post some pics.

    It is the strap angles.... by "locking" the bikes together, they form a solid unit. Think of two bikes in the bed, and making a left turn: the driver-side bike will want to lean in - towards the center of the bed. The passenger side bike will not lean (due to better strap angle on the left side of the bike); with the bikes strapped together, the passenger side bike keeps the driver side bike from leaning in the left turn..... and vice-versa for a right hand turn - the driver side bike keeps the other bike from leaning in.

    I hope that all makes sense. Trust me.... it works.

    The powder coating only adds about $10. Most of the components are laser-cut. What probably adds the most cost is the labor.... There is alot of welding and that aint cheap.

    This bar takes up 9" of the side rails, so if your cover has parts clamped / bolted to the area just behind the cab, it probably wont work....
    Check out the pictures to get an idea of how this is mounted.

    That makes complete sense. I dont have handguards on my bikes so i guess I'm SOL. not sure how i'd be able to pull that off

    I have another batch that is going off to powder coat TODAY...

    It does not look like I will be able to make pre-Christmas delivery (powder-coat time + USPS delivery times)

    So yes, They should be in stock by next Monday.

    This looks SICK. I might have to pick me up one of these. How does this bar handle full size motorcycles like say a Victory 106 CI engine equipped bike? I think it weighs somewhere north of 700 lbs.

    I have no doubt that the bar will handle your bike just fine; One customer posted photos with two dual-sports loaded up.
    The "largest bike I have hauled is my 05' KLR 650 loaded with gear - it probably weighed in at 550 Lbs... my guess... without any issues.
    I regularly use the bar with 2 dirtbikes, but those are probably about 250 Lbs each.

    If I were to haul a bike that big / heavy, I'd probably also tie down to my bed-bolt-to-frame Dodge D-rings, just for extra peace of mind.

    Since my Tie-Down bar is mounted with grade 8 (metric equivalent) hardware, AND is also bolted to the two side rails, strength / flexing is not an issue..... just make sure to use quality straps rated for 150% the weight of your bike.
