    FOR SALE
    OLD MAN EMU
    • 885 Coils
    • 90000 Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Shocks (struts assembled)
    • 60091 Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Shocks
    • Pair of 10mm Nylon Top Plate Spacers
Approximately 12,000 miles. Swapped to a King setup. Nothing wrong with these shocks. Ride like new.

Everything was purchased from Wheeler's Off-Road about a year ago.

Struts are assembled and come with an unused set of nylon top plate spacers, if you need a little extra lift up front.

Driver side has trim packer installed in strut assembly.

No, I do not have a set of leaf springs or an AAL for sale.

No, I will not disassemble the struts or sell anything separately.

$450 firm - and you pay all of the shipping

EDIT: I took the parts to get a shipping quote. I am in Tennessee. I got a quote for shipping to Arkansas ($40), to New York ($70) and to Oregon ($100). That should help you approximate your shipping costs based on distance from TN. Weight is 55 lbs.

And in case anyone is wondering–I'll save you the trouble of having to look it up–retail (new) these parts would be $750 before tax and shipping.

How do these ride compared to 3rd gen 5100 bilsteins all around with stock springs? I was about to purchase that set.

I can't answer that question. I do know these coils are rated close to the same as stock Tacoma springs – but I think the 90000 OME shocks are valved a little higher than the Bilstein 5100's – which would make for a slightly stiffer ride. If you have an aftermarket bumper, winch, etc. these front shocks would be perfect for that extra weight up front.

My understanding from speaking to headstrong offroad was the 90000s are stiffer than 5100s. 5100s are stiffer than 90021. The OME rears are also stiffer.

If you had 888s on the front I'd buy these. GLWS

I don't understand your point about the 888's, but whatever. 888's and 885's are practically the same spring, the 888's are just 10mm taller. Yes, OME's are valved higher, which means valved for a truck carrying slightly more weight. That being said, the difference is ever so slight. The difference in these OME's and my new Kings on the street is hardly noticeable.

Do these add any lift? I'm not looking to gain any height (significant) on my new-to-me 2006 DCSB TRD OR but after it's frame replacement I know I will be wanting to replace all the suspension at some point with something as close to stock as possible, but better than original shocks.

    This will provide lift, yes.

My point is I currently have the 887s, which are taller than the 885s. I'm looking at replacing my 5100s with an OME set up, but I want more of a lift up front than I have now, thus the reason I wanted the 888s.

I'm pretty sure 888's are only 10mm taller than 885's, both rated the same. This is why I purchased the 885's with a 10mm top plate spacer, in case I didn't want the amount of lift an 888 created. I'm glad I did it that way, because as you can see, the spacers are still unopened. But I was only running 275/70r17's and this setup is perfect for those tires. With a little trimming, this setup is also perfect for 285's.

How much lift did these give you? How stock are you on the front?

I am pretty much stock, with rock sliders (so maybe +110 lbs in the center). No bed cover.

I got about 2.25" in the front with no bumper or additional weight. Double cab.

Thanks for the info, two followups that I hope will help you sell it, or maybe I will see about buying it.

    1. Did you need to swap UCAs to align well afterwards?
    2. The factory 3rd gen front springs are pretty firm. Did you feel it was similar ride, firmer? Also, body roll with lift? Better or worse? I'm assuming firmer suspension = less body roll.

    Thanks,
    Lee
