I think hes asking what is the purpose of the LED light thats described. These are halogens correct? What is meant by dual beam?

I'm not understanding where the LED comes in to play.

from what i've seen on these lights the LED does nothing other than make the lights appear to glow when switched to led

oh, ok, yes roblass is correct. these are halogens. the led light gives them a bluish glow when not in use, that's all.

dual beam means they have a short, wide (60 degree) plasma ion yellow beam throw on low, and a long, thin (30 degree wide) super white beam throw on high.

i ran an identical pair of these on my jeep, they worked great for foul weather driving (yellow beam on low) and were ideal for offroading and other adventures at night because the high throw on them were almost twice as far as my ipf headlights on high beam.

hope that helps clear things up a little bit.

How much does that blue led light give off? I'm worried about cops...while I am a career FF down here in VA....that's still a no-no. is it truly noticeable at night time?

Says white LED and if it's a concern, just don't turn on the LED.

it's definitely a light bluish glow, even though it says white led. but the glow is really, really dim, just like with the bmw rings around the headlights, have you ever seen those? i cannot see a cop giving you a problem with that quite honestly. they do not throw any light onto the road at all in led mode.

i found a youtube vid of them just so you can see.

if it was truly a problem for you, the led bulbs are separate from the main ones, just pull them out.
