OK. Can you post fewer details, please?

J/K. Do you have any more details for the prospective buyers? Like manufacturer? At least so 3rd gen guys and gals (this is a 3rd gen forum after all) can verify fitment with a 2nd gen end link.

Or you don't have that info?

Yeah, I'm definitely familiar with mstudt's end links for 1st gen Tacoma. Didn't realize these quick disco links were his because quick disconnects are not even listed anywhere on his website.

    Anyways, bump for OP.

Alright, since OP didn't provide more details on these, I went ahead and did the grunt work.

2nd gen SB links should work with 3rd gen. Here's some good additional FYI from the guy who made these (I think?), for potential buyers:

Nothing changed suspension wise from 2nd to 3rd gen..... only the engine and interior. The 2015 is almost a 3rd gen, except it has the 4.0 v6 vs to 3.5 by ((Lexus/minivan engine). Yes, they will work for any truck 2006 to present.

    Yes it will, in general.

However, the guy who designed and made these does not recommend disco’s to be used on 3rd gens.

All Tacoma's 05+ will use the same front links.

I treat these as a special order, and don't keep stock on them. That's the reason you need to PM or email me directly for them.

This isn't true, and if this were the case they wouldn't work on any vehicle. These links will work with any 05+ Tacoma, 03+ 4runner, and FJ Cruiser. All use the same link, have the same fitment, and will yield the same results. That being said, results will vary depending on the suspension, and a sway bar relocation kit is recommend.

I think you may have misinterpreted what I was saying. You can't truly disconnect the sway bar on the front since your sway bar won't clear your coilovers. This will keep you from swing your sway bar up, and out of the way like older models. The way around this is to build a sliding disco that will give your suspension more movement without being truly disconnected.

    @mstudt
Thanks for chiming in and clarifying, Mike! I'd rather be wrong and then corrected (vs. "right" but inaccurate).

Sorry if I misinterpreted your intent. Just sounded like your overall recommendation was that disco's on 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas wasn't really worth it for most people (except for very specific use cases). See post #9 above for the quote that I referenced to come to my conclusion.

Having said that...can these disco's be adapted to turn into a sliding disco? Or is the sliding disco a completely different "animal" (different product)?

Completely different styles of links. I USED to make a true disco for the 3rd Gen 4runner but DON'T anymore. I'm using bolt since I still get asked all the time, and not trying to yell at you.

The older style links found on 3rd Gen 4runner's and the early model 1st Gen Tacoma's used a different sway bar link style, and had a better sway bar location. The previous location of the sway bar allowed for the sway bar to be flipped up and out of the way when disconnected. With the new location, you can only do a sliding style since the sway bar won't clear the coilovers, and you can't get it out of the way.

    Do I like? No, I don't

That being said, they do what they're designed to do, and that's give you some extra suspension travel. The amount of suspension travel is questionable, and is solely based on ones suspension. So people love them, and have had them installed for years. Some people hate them, and take them off after a month. They require maintenance to keep them clean, and lack of maintenance will result in the joint races getting ruined quickly. You would also benefit from a sway bar relocation kit. The usually come with any 2.5 remote resi coilover you get, and are also a great addition regardless of the coilover type. The relocation simply put, will get your sway link back to parallel with your spindle or very close to parallel.

    Mike
