Did some extended bumpy time driving yesterday. Still tight as a drum!

 

After receiving many inquiries I have decided to produce and assemble a new improved version of the full sized replacement front license plate bracket. The new version will be slightly thicker material, providing a minimal weight increase while gaining strength, as well as more mounting height options. It will still maintain the same machined industrial appearance while being hidden behind the mounted license plate. I have surveyed a few owners of the original design, some with over a year of use, and everyone seems happy with the durability, the car wash safety, and the overall performance. The new bracket will be priced at approximately $38. It will also still replace the original factory black plastic bracket by using the existing tapped holes in the bumper. There will be no drilling, or grille removal, required if used as a replacement. Adding this to a clean new bumper would require drilling 2 holes in the front plastic bumper. It is still one of the best brackets designed to prevent damage to the painted bumper from use of the factory plastic bracket. It may be 2-3 weeks before these are ready to sell. They will be available here, on other forums, on ebay and probably in Tacoma groups on facebook. These new improved brackets are finally moving along in manufacturing. I forgot how much work went into making these. Need to finish grooves in 28 more. Then drill/tap all the long and short pieces, then deburr and polish, then final assembly. Slow but sure. These will be nice.

 

Version 2 is now here. Thicker material. More precision in manufacturing. Stronger than the original. Sales will begin this weekend with shipping to start 9/21/2020. I put a lot of effort and a lot of pride in making this new version. The first version was great. This one is better. More mounting positions and a rock solid build. Very proud of how these turned out. This is a limited production of 25 (2 are already reserved). I do believe this is the best option available to replace the big ugly bracket and it does not cut into the painted bumper like the plastic oem bracket. If you are required to use a front license plate then this is what you need. Just like my previous brackets this one is still hidden behind the license plate and it will accept your favorite plate frame. $33 delivered with stainless fasteners, rubber spacers and free priority shipping.

I have the V1 and that thing is plenty HD. I glued and screwed the whole thing, I even used RTV in the bumper mount holes. Still solid!

 

There was nothing wrong with the first version. I just felt like I could improve on it and this one is definitely stronger. I figured if I was going to make them then why not make them better. If these sell as good as the first ones then I will make a larger batch next time. If they are slow to sell then I will just do a few limited runs every few months. I do have much better equipment now so it is much less challenging maintaining consistency.

 

Received mine the other day. A couple minutes to install, solid construction and clean look with no more box on the nose. Outstanding piece of work!
