Bottom line: Solid cap for utilitarian purposes. Very close color match to Silver Streak Mica.

    Details:

    Outer dimensions: 76" long x 62" wide
    Inner dimensions: 75" long x (55.5" wide front / 56" wide rear)

The cap is a Continental Mark IV model. It fits my 2005 Toyota Tacoma, but I think it was designed for 1st gen Tacoma Extended Cab. I've tried to fit it on a buyers 1st gen regular cab, but the angle of the cab (ie. cab degree) was too steep. Bed dimension charts indicate that the 1st gen extended cabs have a lower angle (10 deg) vs the reg cab (4 deg), and I believe this cap was made for the extended cab.

The cap DOES NOT taper toward the cab. The 2nd gen Tacoma has a wider bed toward the cab (about 2 inches wider).

On my 2nd gen, there's about an inch of contact overlap between the bedrail top and the cap at the front of the side bedrails. I've had this on my 2005 since 2005 without issue. I have not been able to get it 100% waterproof, but I also haven't tried too hard. I only needed lockable space to keep shovels and other landscaping tools.

If you need a 100% waterproof cap for your 05+ Taco, this likely isn't your cap. I think a 1st gen would have better luck in this regard, but haven't tested it.

The fiberglass and paint is in great shape. There are no leaks in the fiberglass. There is a gap between the front rail and the cap; which is apparantly not uncommon. Extruded solutions provides a special seal for this: http://www.extrudedsolutions.com/products/Front-Rail-Seal.htm
I just built it up with foam weatherstripping to waterproof.

Only notable damage to the fiberglass is on the rear driver and passenger side edge (See photo). The passenger-side trim piece delaminated and I set a bolt throught the area to hold everything in place. It's been that way for a few years and is solid.

The sliding glass panel on the front of the cap (against the rear cab window) was broken a while back. I had a piece of plexiglass cut as a replacement.

The side windows slide open. The screen material was cut (not torn) ~2" horizontally on each side to pass a tie-down strap through.

Also, the rear glass lift cylinders will need to be replaced soon. They still hold up the rear glass, but it's starting to sag.

I recently replaced the T handles and purchased rubber covers for the handles to keep salt out of the locks.

update: I think this may have originally been designed for the 96-04 1st gen Tacomas based on the dimensions and color. I cannot verify that by any marking on the cap.

update: tried fitting on a 1st gen regular cab and the rear cab angle is too steep. This appears to be a 1st gen extended cab specific cap.
