I may be wrong but those look like they have the additional 1" spring spacer on the bottom of the springs. See my pic below, those are stock pro coil overs. If so that would give you a 2.75" lift not the 1.75" stock pro's came with. There also about 220$ (if i remember correctly) on top of the price of the springs and shocks. I went with the spring spacers, (to the left of the AAL).

Yeah you're wrong. They are not spacers. Spacers in the front go between the coil bucket (sometimes called shock tower) and the top of the shock. That's why their thickness exactly translates into the lift they provide all other things being equal.

However, these thicker spring seats compress the springs more but how much lift that gives depends on the weight of everyone's individual truck (4x4 heavier than prerunner, Access cab vs double, bumpers, winches, batteries, etc...) kinda like cranking performance coilovers like King or Icon except that those have better adjustability via threaded collars on ththeir shock body but the principle is the same.

About the ones she's selling I have no idea what the fuck is going on there. They certainly are not the stock TRD pro version. Those have black spring seats that are side specific; thicker spring seat on the driver side to compress the coil slightly more to counter Taco lean (which is a body mount issue on later gen 2 tacomas, my 2010 doesn't have it). Looks like somebody modded these so they don't sag with more weight in the front and installed a 1/4" taco lean spacer on the top of one shock... the statement that they fit 4runners is also false. They can be made to fit but it requires some modification such as reclocking the top hats

    Nice book, but you're wrong.

In your first couple sentences you describe what's called a top plate spacer.

The "thicker spring seat" you describe in the second paragraph is a coil spacer, or more commonly called a spacer. Spacer being the operating word.

If I remember correctly Toytec offered a 1" spacer for these coil overs. However, I think their offering replaced the whole seat with a larger aluminum one. This one looks funky.

Lol yeah definite a coffee fueled post but you're either wrong or just trying to rephrase what I said. Nothing I wrote is wrong. Let's not turn this into a technical discussion, it is a for sale thread after all. Point of my post was that prospective buyers who have those type of questions really need to do a lot more research to prevent disappointment. Pm me if you have more suspension questions.

Actually I appreciate any and all feedback on these shocks. To be perfectly honest, these damn things are an absolute mystery to me. I feel like I've spent hours trying to find information on them and it is very difficult to come by. But I will update the post to say they won't fit 4runners if that's accurate. All the information I posted was taken from the link I attached from another forum - not to say their word is accurate either. But thanks for the insight.

I was just saying that your statement saying the previous poster was "wrong" calling them a spacer was, well, wrong.

That chunk of aluminum between the spring seat and the top plate is exactly that- a spacer. You're right in that it's not a top plate spacer, but you're wrong in saying it's not a spacer.

And poking fun at your 18 page post, of course =)

To the OP: 50,000 miles on a Bilstein strut with a spacer installed (though it's a little one) is quite a few. That said, I think your price is pretty fair at $450 shipped. Shipping is not going to be cheap. You may want to consider a price for local pickup, as cutting shipping off of $450 will make these a great deal to someone local, I imagine.

Oh for sure! Local pick up I'd easily knock off $100 bucks.

Lol, nope. Just let it go dude! Look at the pic the OP posted. The plain Jane shock on the right has a spacer on top. For conversations sake let's say it's 1". It moves the shock one inch away from the coil bucket thereby creating a 1" lift.
The thicker spring seat (also called spring perch sometimes) doesn't work the same way at all. It doesn't space away the actual shock from the coil bucket and neither does it increase the overall length of the assembly, instead it compresses the spring increasing preload on it and that affects how the whole assembly will support the sprung mass. Again, pm me if you got more questions.

Spacers suck! It's a crude way to fuck with suspension geometry and even if you can get it aligned you'll beg for damage because the shock will bottom out sooner and before LCA hits bump stop unless you space those down too

Maybe ask again in a few weeks if they're still sitting around. I gotta pay off the new suspension.

Ugh, you believe every word in the Bible too? Look man, call them spacers call them spaceships call them little black round thingies I don't care. I posted in here - much like you if you will forgive me for assuming - to help some people understand what these do because of so many oblivious how-much-lift-do-these-make type of questions. I hope we can at least agree - as I wrote in my previous post- they do not work like your $20 el cheapo spacers.
