I am currently a licensed journeyman electrician working in Iowa. My wife and I are planning on moving out to CO next summer, if all goes as planned. I am looking for any advice as far as good commercial contractors out there to work for, contractors to stay away from, and good places to rent a home or town house. Really any advice would be appreciated!

I'm sure there are a lot of electrical companies around here... actually, I know there are but the only one I am familiar with is Hanna Electrical Contracting. The owner (Clint) is a very very awesome and squared away guy. His employees are also great and have been working for him for a long time. ...probably because he takes care of them.

    Maybe reach out to them?

This is just a mere suggestion. Not trying to impose any agenda.

You could look into joining the local electrical union in that area if you can't find any work. Being that you're already a journeyman you most likely would be able to just join without having to test in or go through the apprenticeship. The IBEW is looking to get many new members throughout the next year. You can google the IBEW for that local area and talk to their Business Agent and get info.

Its a good gig if there is work in that area. Benefits, retirement, and pay are really good. Ive been in for 8.5 years now and I'm happy with it.

Again, just another idea for you. Good luck to you no matter what you do.

Thanks for the advice guys! I've already been told to check out Hanna, so I'll definitely have to explore that. I've also thought about contacting the IBEW to see what they have to offer in that area. We can't wait for the big move!

While I have no experience in the feild, definitely need to work and look really hard to find a job in foco. My ex's father has been an electrician for years and they live in Foco, he could never find a job up there and always had to commute to denver.
