never buy electronics online from best buy. Ive been waiting on hold with them for 50 min because they dont allow ups to deliver my package with out a signature. I called ups and they told me that i cant pick it up at the shipping center either because best buy has a contract with ups stating that it has to be delivered to my house and that i cant come pick it up with my ID that perfectly matches the shipping label.

and now that im talking to someone from best buy they are telling me that i have to go pay $5 at ups to pick up my package.

You should be able to pre sign for any UPS package. Go to the website and search for a pre-sign slip. Print, sign and tape to door. They will leave it. Simple.

They offer some warranty a buddy of mine got the 2 year manufactures warranty. and then paid for the extra 3 year warranty. Something in the TV died so he called best buy they said it would not be covered under their warranty till the manufacture's expired. So you had to ship the TV back to the manufacturer. (that cost 40% of the cost of the TV). Kinda defeated the purpose of buying the in store warranty.

He ended up paying a computer shop $40 to fix it:rolleyes:

Extended warranties on electronics are pure profit for them. For the very few people who ever even cash in on one when something dies, they pull this type of shit. But, they're right. Manufacturer's warranty first, then theirs.

get this. Ive been on the phone with best buy ups and at the ups center for a total of 3 hours. What has to happen is they have to attempt to deliver the package 3 times and at the end of the third day it gets held so i can go pick it up.why the fuck cant i just hold it tonight and pick it up tomorrow. or i can have them give it to my neighbor. Keep in mind my neighbor never paid for the item, didnt pay for the shipping, and the ups guy has no clue if that neighbor is who they say they are. this makes not damn sense at all.

I have always hated UPS, i have never gotten a package from ups without issue

fuck well my rant is over until tuesday when they dont let me pick it up

Weird that you can't alter any of the delivery options. Any time I've used UPS, I can change stuff. I've never had anything shipped from Best Buy though.

This sounds like it should be more of a fuck UPS thread than Best Buy... UPS are the fuckholes that signed the contract with Best Buy making for some screwy delivery options (or lack thereof). The whole idea of not being able to even pick it up at their shipping center is complete crap.

There is no closest best buy to your house? I usually have it shipped to store and pick it up. Gotta think about who's home or work to accept delivery and all that bs.

I'm not a big fan of Facebook but the positive is that most big companies have an account. If you can't get any where on the phone and it sounds like you can't, write about your displeasure on the Best Buy Facebook account. Those companies pay someone to make it look like the best company on earth. You should get an e-mail shortly with someone wanting to assist you.

    Sorry to hear your problem....

Back when I was using UPS a lot, if I missed a sig required delivery, I just called the local distribution center, and got my package with proof of ID and my sig, usually around 7PM (the latest they were open to public)....can't imagine WTH Best is doing, and it is costing UPS $$$ for the extra attempts rather than you picking it up...
