DO NOT USE STP!!!! I used it once and only once and had a BAD experience. the type of experience that causes you to have a truck towed to the shop and the gas tank drained. It gummed everything up on the throttle body and fouled all the plugs along with as the mechanic put it "turned my gas into thin jell-o" i will never put another stp product in on or around any vehicle i own. i use lucas aith the occasional seafoam treatment works great for me.

Seafoam or Techron, both good stuff. I do it every second/third oil change and time it such that I can run the Seafoam'd tank out right before I change the oil. Just peace of mind since this stuff is basically a solvent and can dilute your oil if too much gets into it.

I use Seafoam in all my gas engines, car , truck, bikes, lawnmower and snowblower. With all the crap they put in the gas now, its better to be safe than sorry. I do use the Techron too, but I use that as a cleaner and the Seafoam more as a stabilizer.

Do you put the full pint of Seafoam into the gas tank or pour it into the engine straight in?
    Does it matter?
    Is one way better?

    Cheers

Thats what is in their gas, just like it says a concentrate, so if you use their gas regularly, it is better than this.

These can't be real, surely no one is that dumb. And hell, I don't know, maybe water and lucas additive work great, maybe if you mix them it is the best thing in the world, but COME ON, REALLY!

I bought 2 bad loads of fuel from a Shell station, truck ran like crap, started hard and idled horribly. Even after changing gas stations, it still ran like crap.

Dumped a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment in and immediately it ran better and has been. It cleaned out whatever was stuck in the system with results.

1 or sometimes 2 bottles of the lucas every year now.

The only STP stuff I have used is the oil treatment, and that basically just adds weight to the oil and has added detergents. To heavy and not needed for our trucks.

I also have heard the horror stories of STP fuel stuff. One buddy of mine gave it a try and it locked up his fuel system with the additive thats in there, turned the system to black gum inside. The best we could figure out is that it melted some old o-ring, rubber fuel line, or ??.

Not really, the concentration in the gas is not as high as what you'd add to your tank via the bottle. Granted if you use a good TopTier gas, you shouldn't need much, if any, additional additive, but sometimes it's just a feel good thing.

Yeah, but an every week fill up of their gas vs. using this every 3000 miles like it suggests. The preventitive care using their gas all the time is 10x better than using the additive when your truck feels rough.

the absolute best stuff on the market costs around 40 bucks a can..... BG 44K. some toyota dealers carry it. it is expensive but i tested it in my scion tc and gained nearly 5mpg on a road trip.... used to drive from san diego to albuquerque every other month so i know what mileage i get each way.

EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT. but not in every tank, maybe 1 every 3k miles
