Rich, normally I agree with you but it appears great minds don't always think alike. :D

For the truck, I don't use fuel additives. In the winter, I might throw some dry gas in just to help with condensation but I haven't been able to find it recently. For the smaller engines, the ethanol seems to really affect them negatively, especially engines that sit such as the snow blower in the summer and lawn care engines in the winter. The Startron stuff is an enzyme that just keeps the ethanol from separating out. Because it's an enzyme, you can't over dose it. I'm very skeptical of any fuel treatment but this stuff actually works. My motorcycle runs smoother (I don't get that backfire and popping on deceleration) and all my small engines start just fine after sitting for an entire season where as before, I'd have to clean the carbs annually. Previously, I have used STP treatments and K100. K100 did alright but it's expensive and I was still having some of the starting issues with the small engines if left to sit for a long period of time.

And actually, one 8 oz. bottle treats 48 gallons so it's significantly cheaper than the other additives.

    Yeah.
After some research, I think I am going to grab a bottle of the Startron and give it a shot in my project car. I at least need to run some of the old gas out of it before I pull the plug on the tank and start over. I had no idea that ethanol caused so many problems and have learned quite a bit. Not worried too much about our daily drivers, but my lawn equipment and project car need the help!

There are certainly environments where stabilizers and dryers are beneficial.

But as far as something that will magically perform a $100 injector service for $10?

    Nahh....
