Long ago in a time forgotten. Whole lot more about leaky valve guides/seals. Gasoline will be evaporated by the time you exit the vehicle. I'm old enough to have blasted valves with walnut shells while still on the head those days are long gone.

Government mandates to have certain amount of detergent in all gasolines. If you're using top tier gas then you should not be needing any other detergent to keep your fuel system clean in your Tacoma. Said that, most GDI engines (not Tacoma) suffer from carbon deposits since gasoline does not come in contact with valves. For that instance I use CRC valve cleanerhttps://www.autozone.com/fuel-and-engine-cleaners-additives/intake-valve-cleaner/crc-gdi-intake-valve-cleaner-11oz/461563_0_0?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:71700000069889792&gclid=Cj0KCQjw24qHBhCnARIsAPbdtlLjOk9Bog415JtIBNssUfXZ_RqWD0FmUwPNcKTETbUE6NCH6o47dmcaAlKPEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds, the only over the counter chemical strong enough to keep carbon in check.

Now if you want to realign your gas and make it burn more efficiently and feel a bit more pep, I use Liqui Moly Speed Tec: https://www.amazon.com/Liqui-Moly-2...t=&hvlocphy=9031906&hvtargid=pla-568593964285 in my sports cars.

I've heard good things about Techron, but I've always been a seafoam user. Seafoam doubles as a carb/injector/valve cleaner as well as a fuel stabilizer. I use it in my motorcycle over winter, in the lawn mower, and in all my vehicles. Motorcycle has never had any issues with the carb gumming up come spring every year. Keeps the engines running like new.

Even ChrisFix has proof it works in a car engine as well as a lawn mower engine. Apparently Berrymans B-12 cleans better than Seafoam, however it has known to be too harsh on vehicle fuel systems.

What I find interesting is this: Scotty will rip a manufacturer left and right, the dude has been around longer than a lot of us
have been living. I trust what he has to say.

Furthermore: If he were spouting B.S. don't you think Ford/ Chevy/ Dodge/ ( whoever ) would have his azz up to his neck
in lawsuits?.... right.... they know if they haul him into a court of law he will prove every word and they will look mucho-bad.

Not a trickle charger...you'll cook your battery.

    Battery Tender like this:

NOCO - GEN On-Board Battery Chargers

Works awesome, have one hardwired in my FJ. I have driven it maybe 200 mi in the last year.....battery is still fresh as a daisy.

FYI Battery Tender's (the brand) will turn themselves off when the battery is fully charged to save 'cooking' a battery. I've yet to try using one to cook Bacon; I'll be sure and report-back!

I have Battery Tender's hard-wired onto all of my ATV's, MC's and my Travel Trailer. I generally get 5 to 12 years out of my battery's. There are other brands, Battery Tender is the one I've had the best results with.

I had a 1989 325is for a couple of years and sold it with 270k on the odometer. I never had any intake valve deposits. I had to replace the head at 250k if I recall because a coolant passage cracked into an oil galley. The intake valves were clean. I did run Redline Fuel injector cleaner once a year.

The MPGs in that car were horrific, I rarely got more than 15 MPG and I think new they were rated like 19/20 MPG. It was a great car.

Ahh, Scotty. I was wondering why Dennis Hopper was making videos on using Seafoam?
