If this is an old beat up topic, please forgive me, but here goes....
I have an 04 Titan that I replaced the rims on recently before getting my 18 TRD OR. They are Fuel Beasts 17x9 +20. I was really hoping I could swap these out for the stock 16x7’s that came on the truck since they are less than a year old. I have slipped my hand behind the stock tire, and my knuckles touch both the inner sidewall of the tire and the suspension. This leads me to believe that the heavy offset and and the additional width is going to cause an issue. I have seen other threads that suggest that +12 would work but unfortunately the $$ was already spent for the offset that fit naturally on the Titan. Any thoughts and or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    ROT

    Welcome to the forum:hattip:

    Congratulations on your new truck.

Now this might not be the answer you are looking for, more of a suggestion. Since you have the rims and tires already, when you have some spare time, try the wheels on the truck. Only true way to find out if they fit.

Sorry I know it doesn't help answer your question, but I hope it helps.

Speedfreak....Definitely appreciate the input, but the tires that are on them at present are equivalent to 33x12.50 BFG KO2’s also nearly new. So they wouldn’t be a viable option on stock suspension. I would have to change the tires to test in that fashion. I may just have to box them up and stow them until the day the suspension fails and needs to be replaced and upgraded.
Side note: Not sure I’m too keen on the spacer option either, since that would bring its own set of suspension issues and trimming.

The tires make it a little bit tougher to fit under the truck for sure. Definitely a chance of rubbing. I am sure someone with some experience will chime in soon enough.

Yeah, nearly positive they’d drag the wells.

There is this website called craigslist. Look it up. Sell those wheels with the god awful +20 offset. Sell the wheels and tires and buy something that will fit your Tacoma. May lose a little money, might take awhile but that’s going to be your best bet. 33x12.50 will never fit with a +20 offset.

+20mm offset is too high with a 9” width. You could run a set of spacers and they’ll work (of course once you lift and cut to clear the tires)

Quick, I intended to put the tires back on the Helo Maxx’s that were replaced, in order to sell the Titan.. then change to the tires to a viable tire size for the Taco. Ideally I guess they offset is the meat of the question here. I just didn’t want to buy 17” tires to find out they wouldn’t fly with the offset. I am fairly certain I will have to let them go on the Titan though. Maybe they'll make it a better price for the Titan
Guess I was making a last ditch effort to get confirmation they wouldn’t work hahaha
