    Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum AND a new Tacoma owner, so please forgive me if I am posting a question that has been asked before, or am posting in the wrong area.

I purchased a 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport earlier this week. It's the first Tacoma I have ever owned. The package comes with lots of extras, back up camera etc, but for the life of me I can't seem to find a way to display vehicle information that I assumed would come standard with this truck! Specifically I am looking for the fuel consumption and outside air temperature. My old 2008 Mazda 3 came with all this, is it possible that this truck doesn't have it?!

I've been through the entire manual, but can't seem to find any information. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

    Thanks in advance!

You are correct sir. Trust your fuel gauge. Anyone who trust actual milage left will eventually burn out their fuel pump.

They don't come with the MPG read out, and in my sport (2012) the temp is in the rear view mirror. I honestly don't know where they put the temp read out if you don't have the compass home link mirror. Also I think 2015's don't have a clock anymore.

I have a compass in my rearview mirror, but it only displays the direction, no temperature. Clock function is part of the audio unit.

The outside temp is also listed on the head unit

Really? I can't seem to find that anywhere? In fact my unit is even missing the option of choosing F or C in the setup screen like it shows in the manual.

The 2015's don't have a current actual temperature gauge. It goes off of a weather app that is updated through HD radio. So if you're out of range or your area doesn't support HD radio, you don't have the weather. There is no MPG calculator or read-out on these trucks.

As an alternative, you can get a bluetooth OBD reader and download a compatible app on your phone. You can see MPG, coolant temp, intake air temp, etc.

Thanks for the help everyone. Too be honest it's really not that big of a deal, and I doubt I would use the MPG display often anyhow, I was just shocked that it wouldn't be standard in these trucks!
