2WD, as stated in the post you quoted. Tires are Michelin LTX MS2 P235/70R16s. At 70mph, GPS shows 73mph, or 1.5% slow. So that actually means I'm getting 18.27mpg.

How do you guys drive 50 to 60 MPH? I drive with flow of traffic in SoCal...other than stop and go traffic...the 65 MPH is the posted speed limit but folks drive faster than that... I guess that's why some folks get 28 MPG instead of the 24 MPG I get... I do check my tire inflation and do see improvements when I don't let it go low. I also get a few more MPGs when I use a techron fuel injector cleaner every once in a while.

I DROVE 60 in the slow lane, and I was okay being passed by faster moving vehicles in the fast lane.

If you want good MPG return, keeping up with the traffic at 70-75 isn't going to get you there, generally speaking.

+1 to This, ill cruise at 65+- 5mph depending on uphill (slower) or faster (downhill) And i can grab 20-21mpgs in my v6 4x4 auto w/ lift, bigger tires, and ~ 160lbs of metal armor. Bump that speed to a constant 75-80 and im down at 16-17mpg.

Hell i just towed my small boat (15ft seadoo jet boat) all sorts of camping gear and a mini bike, cruised at 55, and got 18.2mpg!!!

Speed is EVERYTHING with these trucks, they are as aerodymaic as a brick.

I consistently got around 25 mpg half city half highway when I had my 2.7 2wd access cab stock. Now with my supercharged x-runner (v6 2wd access cab) getting 20.3 mpg half city half highway which is the exact same it got bone stock. So it is substantial but the power difference far out ways the gain in mileage. Both fantastic motors though

My commute for the last job was driving from Pasadena area to Irvine, thats 605 and 5 all the way. In the morning around 6AM traffic is somewhat light, but eventually gets busy. Even though there were a lot of cars, the speed was kept slow and steady. I figured i was cruising around 55-60 mph. On the way home there was more traffic, but it wasn't like west L.A. stop and go traffic, just more of the same slow and steady crowd. I averaged 28+ MPG

Now I am commuting to the city of Beverly Hills. After leaving the job site, I get to spend a fun 1/2 hour on La Cienega before I even see the 10 fwy. At least the girls here are very pretty. Earlier this year I had a job in Santa Monica which on the way home is nothing but stop and go for the next 2 hours or so. I just stay in the truck lane and crawl in 1st or 2nd. My average is now 25+ MPG with ac running.

    Wat?

You have it backwards, and not because my post didn't make sense.

sounds to me like you want people to pass you while you're in the fast lane from my perspective, I deal with that daily. Usually its a bimbo fixing her makeup or texting.

    Read it again.

Maybe a little slower. And in context with the rest of the post. Pay super special attention to the first part of the sentence.

    Like..super special.

you enjoy your under-powered 2-5 MPG better truck, I have owned 4cyl trucks and will never again.
The debate has been run into the ground and it always comes down to if you want power get a V6 if you want mpg get a 4cyl you cannot have both.

    Great, irrelevant story.

Here's a graphic description, for the special kid. If you still don't understand what doing 60 MPH in the slow lane and being okay being passed in the fast lane means, go ahead and click "Ignore" under my screen name so I never have to deal with you again.

Notice how I'm in the slow lane doing 60 MPH, as mentioned in my post? Notice also I'm being passed in the fast lane?

Crazy. It's like I read that before, somewhere, some time, some place.

I would be so happy if I get 25+ MPG with AC running...Sounds like you are mostly freeway driving...I'm half and half or more city driving. I used to get about 27 to 28 MPG with the BRZ. Z4M I would get about 18 to 19 MPG.
