Recently my fuel economy has really crapped the bed. Was wondering if anyone could help me trouble shoot. Things I've done. Checked tire pressure, cleaned intake filter.

    Thank you

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Is it running odd? Sputtering/popping/odd noises or feeling when accelerating? Did you change ANYTHING about the truck? Tires, put on a shell?

Depending on the odometer reading, how you use the truck and its service history, you may be due for a mass airflow (MAF) cleaning and throttle body cleaning, new spark plugs, etc... normal tune-up items. None of these by itself will affect fuel economy so much as you have experienced, not all of a sudden. But all of them together... I suppose they could.

Also I've seen bad oxygen sensor(s) do horrible things to fuel economy, that would indicate a check engine light (CEL).

As posted above, I would pay attention to how everything is running. Is anything different lately, other than bad fuel economy? Good power and throttle response? Starting OK? Shifting OK? Normal operating temperatures? Funny smells?

Also, I ran a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through her. She has 85k miles. Got new spark plugs, and wires at 35k. No check engine lights. She does start a a bit loud and has a bit of a tendency to hang out in higher gears a toch longer than she should.

When did you run the cleaner? If it's been awhile and you don't run it regularly it may have knocked something loose and gunked it up worse? I run injector cleaner about every oil change and the mileage typically goes down a bit but not 100mi on a tank.

I ran the cleaner 2 wks ago now after the problem had been noticed. Fuel economy has improved but only slightly.

That's probably partly the reason but mostly I believe it's my location being in central PA no matter where you go it's up hill half the time

Its been on going for the last two months now. I am a second owner. If I replace plugs should I also do wires? I'll reset the battery tonight.
