Those numbers are for the 4 cylinder 5 speed MT 2wd 5 lug. Nobody* in this thread gives a shit about that config. We're talking the V6 4x4. If the new V6 gets 25 highway that'll be about a 20% improvement over the current.

2nd gen EPA Estimated Fuel Economy (city/highway MPG)
    4 Cylinder (2TR)
    21/25 (5-speed manual)
    18/20 (5-speed manual 4x4)
    19/24 (4-speed automatic)
    18/21 (4-speed automatic 4x4)

    V6 (1GR)
    16/21 (6-speed manual 4x2/PreRunner)
    15/19 (6-speed manual 4x4)
    17/21 (5-speed automatic)
    16/21 (5-speed automatic 4x4)

The Colorado gets 17/20/24. I am hoping for an improvement on these numbers, but I can't imagine it will be much.

If the 270 horse/261 ft-lbs document scrap is close to accurate....I wager the beer I am drinking that they will beat 17/20/24 (on the 4x4 V6). Shit, Toyota has already gotten 305 hp / 278 ft/lb out of a 3.5L 2GR-FSE. Even the Atkinson-only 2GR-FXE has 292 bhp. To reduce those numbers that significantly implies an (allegedly/potential) huge focus on efficiency and power delivery/torque curve....in my tipsy opinion.

I still call BS to that.

If the MPG were good they would have already been talming about it and trying to stop the list from growing for the people that said screw it and moved on to other truck brands.

Face it they are starting production and will not say the MPG...

It is not going to be good or worth talking about.
BTW my dealer told me 1mpg gain and they were shocked that that was what they found and got in a short test.

My dealer told me that if I drive the '16 in reverse, I will actually create fuel and have -38 MPG.

    I total~ly recall that.

The universe we live in may not be the only one out there. In fact, our universe could be just one of an infinite number of universes making up a "multiverse."
