i understand this......my point was two fold......1, my trip of over 100 miles which consisted of freeway and streets....2, i am averaging around 23 all round MPGs per tank......it is so consistent I have quit using fully because it is so close, even when i do manual mathematics i am still within +/- .3 mpg.....again, overall i am pleased with my trucks performance.....i don't jack rabbit start or drive hard...just normal starts and I use good top tier gas......driving habits are different and some feet are bigger than others....hehehehe..... have a great day

Those 70 mph speed limits through Arizona are good for moving fast, but not so good on ye ole mpgs.
2017 stock OR with camper shell and prinsu racks, just me and my luggage in the truck.

I didn't take one at the end of the tank, but pretty sure it was 16.something. I just drove from VA to WA and getting above 20 mpgs was very rare. The 12 was a low point haha

265/70/17 KO2s C rated, with a 2 inch lift front and back. Cruised at 65mph the whole way. Was from Fairfield, CA to Walnut Creek, CA for reference for those located in the bay area, CA . The drive has its fair amount of inclines and declines. Do have a tonnue cover for the bed, don't know if it makes a huge difference. 91 octane COSTCO.

wow! I know some of you won't believe me and it's okay! cause I don't believe it myself! I tested my mpg 2 times. Same road, same gas station to start...80% highway, 20% boulvard few stops and light hills...my taco is stock but has tonneau.
first test with blizzak tires; average 119 km per hour/ 13.2 liters/ 100 (used the cruise a third of the time which makes it downshift or stuck on the fifth gear...not impressive, but wait!
second test with ko2 tires; average 110 km per hour/ 9.7 liters/100 (haven't used the cruise, almost no downshift and no stuck gears at all... that is 24.25 miles per gallon at about 68 miles per hour!
It would theorically beat what Toyota pretends it could make!
I am deeply in love with my truck! We were also deep in the mud last weekend!

Tripmeter shows 368.5 and gas gauge at about 1/4. Filled up at 395.6 miles, with 16.89 gallons which equates to 23.42 mpg. This is very typical for me. Travel was mostly highway, but did include some around-town and even some gravel road driving.

these are the number I get in the city! but I can help pressing that ect switch once in while and rev it! As I said in my first post in TW, this truck is making me feel younger! I had not played in the mud since the beginning of the 80', and that was with a Tonka!

I'll post new tests if I get the opportunity, it is very useful in order to justify the choice of my new toy to my wife...I just carry my bikes, my skis, few camping gears...maybe a small 3000lbs trailer this summer

Live in SoCal, suburbs of Los Angeles. I drive my truck daily. I live close to work (7 miles round trip). My daily commute does not require any freeway driving. No lift, 265/70/17 tires. I drive like a grandma but only average 16-17 miles/gallon. Fill up my tank every two weeks. No complaints.

I’m in SoCal at sea level with a stock 2wd V6 SR5 getting 23.5 mpg over 15,000 miles of 50/50 city/hwy driving using that gangsta CA gas. Fuelly.com is your friend. It’s pretty hard to break 25 over the course of a tank.

A good highway run I’m usually bouncing around 10 L/100km at around 120kph and my regular commute is about 50-80kph for 17km each way and consistently at 11.5 L/100. Had a 5 cyl 5 speed Jetta and was only getting about 9.5-10 on this same run. And my 2nd Gen was around 14-15L/100km.

I’m all stock, no tonneau DCLB auto, 2nd Gen was the same just 265/70/17 AT2’s, spidertrax, 2” lift, and cab level cap. Both 4x4.

I’m happy with my mileage !

I’m getting 16-18mpg. Mostly in town driving. I’ve only got 5k on the truck.
