Stock 2017 DCLB TRD-OR V6A, sea-level in SoCal getting ~17 in town and ~20 on highway. Just recently went to 91 to try it out and have had a decrease of about 2MPG (don't know why). Going to go back to 87 on next tank to see if anything changes.

Regular gasoline has the most BTUs, heat energy, of all the grades and will give you the most mpg. Blend in 10% ethanol and the heat energy decreases. Ethanol helps to lean out the air fuel ratio and reduce CO emissions. Go up in Octane and the heat energy decreases.

Gotcha, was making the switch in prep for OVTune. Might go with the 87 tune over the 91 for better MPG.

101 fill-ups tracked in Fuelly. Last fill-up was after the Polar Vortex. Lots of idling and warming up.

I'm in Calgary and over 16 months my average is 11.9L/100 kms, worst tank was 13.6L/100kms I think last winter. I can see a few tanks being as high as yours with crazy cold that's gripping the country now, but overall should be way less than 15L/100kms. You're at 12.8 looks like. Slightly higher than combined Avg raing, but not terrible.

Looked at that fuelly and really don't need more commercial adds sent to my phone and email or have someone tracking me and what I do... there is already too much of that.

I started tracking the Mpg from day 1 with my first fill up on the long drive home from the Dealer and kept close watch on it for the first 2500 miles along with comparing it to what the Toyota system reports out and have found that the accuracy is well within acceptable range. I have tracked my 1st Gen for years not because I'm that worried about how many Mpg I get but with the first Gen it helps to tell when there is issues going on with the engine.

This is how I have done it using the Gps for more accurate speed and miles traveled because the speedometer on my first gen is off and always has been. I get miles traveled and then Divide the miles traveled by the amount of gallons it took to refill the tank, The result will be your car's average miles per gallon yield for that driving period so then with seeing how close my results were to the 2018 3rd gen read out I stopped doing it at every fuel up but then I checked it when it went up at the 4000 mile range because that was a bit of an increase so I wondered WTF only explanation I have for that there must a been a good tail wind that day.

Just finished my 9th tank on Saturday... every tank except the first has been with 93 octane, and all driving has been a mix of highway and city in/around Raleigh, NC.

So far, I'm not overly impressed with the fuel efficiency, but it's still better than the built-up Rubicon I've been daily driving for the last several years -- which was actually 14-15 mpg on 37's.

Just added a date column today; but, as a reference, the truck was purchased at the end of November. MPG log here:

Was getting around 12> 12.5 L/ 100Klms. Getting 13> 13.4 L/ 100 Klms since ECU update but worth it since it feels like the engine was replaced after the ECU update.

2016 TRD Sport, MT, Access Cab, stock except for a Flomaster Dual Exhaust - new to me a little over 2 months ago with about 30k on the odometer. Mix of highway and hilly backroads driving my average tank is between 21 & 22. Haven't had a tank yet less than 20. But I also drive pretty conservatively.

Highest I’ve ever seen it at was 20.8 on a 180 mile round trip.
