Changed mine at 215k for the first time, it was like mud. and a major PITA even with taking off the driver side front tire and it being on a lift!

Never done it and was wondering that when you change it, 1st where exactly is it located and will all the gas drain out when you relpace it?

you can get a fuel filter at autozone for around $13/15 or so. and yours should be by the frame rail on the driverside, closeest to under where you sit......just an explanation of where the filter is. really easy to change.

your is located on the driver's side engine block, under the manifold. some gas will drain out, but not all of it. it helps if you release the presure on the fuel lines but taking off your gas cap.

fyi...i noticed someone posted that you can get the fuel filter at the local parts store(this is the route i took b/c it is cheaper) however, the only difference from the part from the parts store than the one from the stealership is that the one from the parts store is completely smooth, the ome one has 3 ribs in it that slide into slots on the bracket that holds it to the engine block. the only difference this makes in the aftermarket one will spin inside the bracket when you start to tighten it up. the one from the stealer will not because of the ribs, it will stay in place. it can be done with either part. just my .02 :)

on all the vehicles i have ever owned that's where they were located.....but not this one. when i finally found it, i thought to myself, there is no way in hell that i am going to change it. but after 6 or 7 keystone lights, i went for it.........in only took me about 3 hours.....i was cussing so much that my dogs that i was cussing at them....they wouldn't even come in the garage because they thought there were in trouble.
