Fuel Filter replacement

I have a 2005 with 45000 miles and the fuel filter hasn't been changed. Because of the low miles I wasn't considering changing it. The question is should I change it out or leave it go for a while?
No problems with fuel starvation.
If required, are there any special tools required to change it and what is the best brand?

If it aint broke, don't fix it. The fuel filter isn't a regular maintenance deal.

 

Your truck’s fuel filter is built in the fuel pump housing. It is not something that can be changed, without replacing the whole fuel pump unit. What people do is install a larger fuel pump and mount an exterior fuel filter outside of the tank so it can be changed.

Very good. I was just thinking it was an external filter like my older cars. Guess I should not assume. I will leave it go. Thanks for the reply.

my 99 taco had over 160 miles and never changed the fuel filter

never changed it on the others I have owned either
2005 sienna with 208k
2009 taco with 182k my DD
