So I spent the weekend and completely gutted this thing...Replaced the fuel sending unit and the fuel pump checked all wiring to the gauge gas gauge still doesn’t work. All of the omhm tests check out but I can’t find anything to test the gauge it self. My problem is fuel level only works from 3/4 to full.My question is how common is it for the cluster to go out? And is there a test for the gauge it’s self?

Did u manipulate the float arm?
I swear i read that removing the system for replacement of fuel pump etc can lead to bending of the float/arm which throws off the gauge.

No there is zero bending of the float arm to replace it. It comes as a whole drop in unit....I did manipulate the float arm with the key on and it only will read 3/4 through full. If you drop the float arm down to empty the gauge stops at 3/4 of a tank

    Sounds like a defective gauge.

The float Ohms good, Gauge still doesn't work.

Another thought. As the system works on resistance it is possible that you have a wiring issue between the gauge and the float. Ohm out the wires to make sure you don't have any added resistance from a damaged wire or a loose connection.
