I prefer the big old inline 6. It's got a higher power potential then the 4.7 v8. Although the 5.7 v8 certainly has it beat in the short run. Maybe not in the long run though, haven't seen anyone make 2000 horsepower on a 3UR yet haha. It is kind of sad that the 3rz ended up having more horsepower and torque then the sad old 3vz. L

Everything's LS swapped. What are you talkin about? If it's a vehicle model that didn't come with an LS there's a good chance someone's LS swapped it. SBC swaps I understand though, they're heavy and the power potential is weak compared to even the most lowly 4.8 L LS build. Fuel injection is where it's at, and that LS architecture is Stout.

Thought the 3vz edged it out by 3ftlbs

Maybe it did, that's good that poor engine needed a win.

What I meant was if you had late 70's to late 80's Toyota 4x4 p/up it had a sbc swap . It's very rare to see a v8 swap in a Tacoma nowadays !!!!

Gen 1 sbc especially racing crate motors make plenty of hp . My Shafiroff 427sbc easily makes 600hp NA and ive seen 434 , 468 and even 600 cubic inch sbc engines

As for FI vs Carbs I like carbs , easier to work on and make as much hp as a FI setup . I'm running custom spec'd to my application AED carb

You won't solve any problems by switching to carb. Just adding more.

Switching from fuel injection to carburetor........DON’T DO IT.

If you really think you need a simple easy to work on do it yourself vehicle, just buy an old carbureted, points fired truck.......otherwise just pay someone who knows what they’re doing and get it fixed.

Exactly. Plus a few dead spots and lean issues to boot.

    yes possible

    takes some reverse engineering

actually depends on the extent of OEM electronics

Swap in a 22R call it good would be cheaper then designing and building a custom intake and all the other one off items needed.

Had a 90 model base 2wd a while until i stole th engine for my 4wd... it was carb'd and it was the best toyo carb id ever had. We climbed hills reg. Wed made on his papaws180 acre tract that bordered a river. We made a big loop. The hills were a way to get up to the field level quick. Or follow river trail loop.. Full throttle pedaling the same steep long hill i used plenty diff yotas.. that 90 model carb was the only 1 i ever had that wouldnt cut out when u hit the root bump full throttle goin up past the middle of hill. Even tho it was always interesting it cud steal ur momemetum if it was slow to oick back up pwr. An older ford flipped on it, plenty blew engines. I once watched the drunkest person ever do a uturn accidently on the hill(and it was narrow with trees beside it... My friend an i that built it cud really back down well bcuz once it was yrs old it was rutted out an had a zig zag. People with little experience wud freak when they had to back down.. either give up or destroy their bodys.. it was hilarious.. i got here cuz i wanna have a mental image on carb setup for my 5vz just incase the ufos hit us with emp or russians. However.. end of world efi wont be great. Mad max damn sure didnt run it.. to hell with inspect its end of world shit.
