Hello everyone. Wondering if someone can help me with this. I noticed a gas smell and a puddle forming under my truck a couple days ago after driving a couple miles to the store. Otherwise, it ran fine with no problems starting or problems with accelerating, and there is no check engine light. Truck has 177k miles on it.

When I looked underneath the truck, I noticed fuel leaking from the area circled in the picture.

It only leaks fuel for a minute or two after I shut the truck off.
I pulled off that hose and noticed the rubber was chewed up at the circled area in the picture, but I didn’t see any holes in the tube underneath. Replaced it with a new OEM hose. The fuel line surfaces that it connects to appeared clean and not damaged. Snapped on no problem.

I started the truck and it immediately started leaking fuel again, this time I saw where it was coming from, the area circled below:

Despite the leak, it started on the second crank and idles fine.

I did not have to drop the tank to get to this line. Here are 2 more photos from the Toyota schematics that show where the leak appears to be coming from:

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Maybe fuel pump starting to fail? Any help is appreciated.

I am about to replace the same fuel tube ass'y on my 2002 Tacoma. It has proprietary looking clamps built into each hose end. Is there a method to ensure correct secure installation of these clamps? I wonder if Aaron's problem was a leak at one end seeping between the nylon tube and rubber insulation. I'd like to get mie right the first time. Thanks.
