    Hey guys,

First off, sorry for making a new account. I couldn't remember the password to my old one and the link it sent me wouldn't let me change it due to an error so I made a new one.

I was having trouble locating this part and wasn't sure if it was a specialty I'd have to get directly from Toyota. I have a '99 TRD V6. I noticed a hard start and then an overwhelming smell of gas. Further inspection showed me that this 10" or so piece of fuel line was leaking fuel all over everything at an alarming rate.

Does anyone know what/where I need to get this part or if I can get a replacement at a general auto parts store? Toyota is a bit of a trek for me, but I'll do it if I have to. I was also curious if repairing this was as simple as loosening the nuts and popping it off and popping a new one on. I've done my timing belt/thermostat, etc, but never really messed with the fuel system. The fuel filter was replaced about 25k miles ago as well.

I see that line here for my 2001 4wd 3.4l: https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...722450/FUEL-INJECTION-SYSTEM/674460-2211.html but I can't find the figure it's referring to get the part number. But yes, you should get that from Toyota, or mail deliver it.

You'll need a good set of line wrenches to do any work on the fuel or brake lines. But yes, you should be able to just replace that line.

I hope you're not driving the truck around with that leak..

    Edit:
I was able to find the line in the Fuel Tank and Tube diagram:
    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...5510_6722608/FUEL-TANK--TUBE/674460-7751.html

There are a handful of diagrams there, so you need to verify with the dealer which tank and line config your vehicle has, but it's either:
23091E - which doesn't seem to have a part number for it- and I can't find any additional details on it...
    or
    77209C - 77209-04020

    Andy and Jonathan,

Thank you for being so helpful. It was special order so I went ahead and placed it. $55. That is indeed the missing part #.

And definitely not driving it around, don't worry. I love my truck too much to risk a fiery death, haha.

That line is, as per your other post "black nylon" under the protective sheath and dealer only.
There were several versions over the years along with superseded/replaced part numbers.
Best to order from a source that does vin# verification.

    Below is 95.5-2000 + a few months.

    The fittings are conventional flare.
Hold the large fitting (on the tube) stationary and turn the small portion on the steel line.
The big end can be turned but it can cause trauma to the nylon portion, see yellow arrow.

Dirty Pool, you're right. The dealership just called me back after running my VIN and gave me the part # in your picture. It was actually $92 too, ofcourse, lol.

Great directions on the fix as well. I'll make sure to be cautious when I pop it in there. You guys are always the best.

Ouch, is that straight retail? The pictured one was around $50 from an online discount dealership, maybe 6-7 years ago.

Some parts houses will make up "custom" lines but frequently get stumped with Toyota stuff.
I had the local NAPA replace just the rubber portion of the PS high pressure line for $29.

Yeah, NAPA was one of the places I went and it wasn't very fruitful. That is the straight retail price. The price originally was $55 for the same part, but I'm imagining it had something to do with what you said about them updating part #'s. Who knows?
