I definitely found a big difference between 2 tires of the same size. The oem Firestone 215/70-15s had obviously lower rolling resistance than the Michelins I replaced them with that advertised green-x LRR. I coast a lot and know what to expect and the Michelins couldn't compare. Thankfully after about 25k they seem to have improved a lot but still not up to the much maligned Firestones.

And wear... Bought my '08 with 53k on it. Stock Firestone Destinations.

I have no clue if they are original or not, but I now have over 96k on the truck and have not changed tires.
I had one plugged due to a nail, and one hit a piece of debris and took a chunk out of the center of the tread, so it was replaced.

I keep expecting to see some wear, but they are holding up like Neutronium.

Hmm, I got 45K out of mine and then ended up replacing them after 2 different mishaps, 1 was several nail punctures running over a board, which I plugged and then a week later kissing a curb turning too sharp and it ripped the sidewall bad. Replaced the whole set but could have maybe got another 5-10K out of them. I'd be surprised if at 96k they are originals but maybe.

Ya, I doubt they are original, but they were not new by any means when I bought it.
I'll have to find the DOT stamp and pull the date code.
    I'm betting early 2011.
It was a company truck before it went to my Chevy dealer.

A little of this and a little of that.
2011 DCSB V6, four by four, six speed. Michelin 265/65/17 MS2's.
I was getting 16-17 mpg through 10K miles, then started getting 18-19 mpg and that's where it's been. Truck has 18K miles on it now.

2013 singlecab 4 cylinder. Not quite 3k miles on it so there is still break-in to go. Routinely getting about 23.5 mpg. Best was 24, worst a bit over 21 (first or second tank). Going to put a shell on it; hope that doesn't hurt the mpg too much. Looks like we're entering ethanol season here in CA so that will probably knock it down to the high 22s. I fucking hate ethanol.

And this truck isn't hurting for power. I may change my tune if I ever take a trip to high altitude, but here at sea level it's doing fine.

The only true method is miles driven divided by gallons filled up at the pump. An app can only estimate, and can be tuned in, but odometer and gas receipt don't lie.

My average is 18.63 over the last 3 months. In that time I had 14 fill ups. The highest mpg was on a trip to Indiana from Maryland and I got 20.32, the lowest was 16.76 towing a 18ft Carolina Skiff.

I've been tracking it on an app called Car Minder on my iphone and record every fill up.
