That's a Chevy. They're known for bad fuel pumps.

The fuel is drawn through the pump and cools the motor on it's way to the injector rail.

I always fill up at E or just after the gaslight kicked on, I've ran it below E multiple times. 165k miles on my truck, no problems with the fuel pump so far!

    16-18mpg in town

    16-19mpg at 75-8Xmph

I can average 21-21.5mpg on highway if I keep it between 60-65mph. I'm just not that patient.

Getting 18-21 depending, I drive a lot for my job. Mix of highway with stop and go too. It's an '06 4L 4x4 Off Road package with 147K miles, MPG has been consistently in that range since I bought it with 8K miles.

Now on the beach......... well.......... lucky to get 7 or 8.

Yeah I know cause Toyota is better made I was just saying guys no need to get all defensive about it! Far as I know Toyota pretty much as the less amount of problems according to one senses site I have went on! Maybe Toyota pays them to make sure they get low sense ratings hahaha! Joke!!

I was just saying I try not to go below the quatar line, just cause it's the dollar amount all at once I hate seeing!! With gas being so high here!! everyone has there preference. Why don't we start a thread on that to haha!!

There are plenty of reoccurring threads on when to gas up, and quite a few here that would never gas up below 1/4, and some even 1/2. There is really no issue, unless you manage to run out of gas and then leave your vehicle in run so that it runs the pump dry for a long time.

Well then to stop all these gas up threads why not lock one and make it count!?!?! half? thats just crazy 40litres wow if u count up the waiting time, and such to be able to get fueld up lot of time wasted, least 1/4 left isnt to bad!, but to beat that was just gotta make sure its not on a friday afternoon haha!!

everyone would have there two cents to put in, i just dont want to be replacing a fuel pump for any amount of time i have my truck for, so i try not to go on E, at 180000km so far so good! Yes i know some that always fill up on E, if that one certain guy guy does that and he runs out lol i dont help ppl if thats the case thats there fault!!

just calculated mpg my last fill up, 16.3 mpg. I guess its because of the topper, lift, and 18" rims.

+1, as long as the fuel pump is submerged it is fine. I usually fill mine between an eighth and a qtr..

I'm the same way. I consistently get 20-22mpg in my 2010 4cyl manual A.C. Taco. Best I've seen was 24mpg highway, and surprisingly that was with the bed half loaded with camping gear. I'm looking for mods to break the 25mpg barrier.

    IOTW, it made no difference.

Look at the graph on my fuelly link in my sig and seriously tell me that you can make a legitimate claim that a specific item made a 1mpg difference.

I get an average of 18 MPG. I installed a K&N (FIPK) filter and a 2 1/2 inch dia exhaust (cat back) and I have Mich. LTX tires (don't judge, dealer screwed me, and offered to buy 2) good AT grip, low rolling resistance. Of course, I might do about 10+ over speed limit (Hwy), I drive about 2K a month.

2013 v6 double cab , long bed. use it as a daily driver. most of my driving is around town , maybe a 1/3 is highway. tend to go a few mph over the speed limit but not too crazy. I average about 20 mpg sometimes a tweek better. I tow a small pop up camper (maybe 2000 lbs) mileage doesnt drop much actualy i'm impressed at how well my tacoma does.
